Sophie's P.O.V:

BRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIINNG!!! I woke up with a rush of exitment, knowing what day it was. I jumped up and ran to the calander on my bulletin board, and sure enough it was. August 4th, the best day in the world. My birthday! Finally!!! I thought, full of joy. My birthday is FINALLY here! I did my little happy dance-like I always do when I'm super excited-and halfway through it my purple, rhinestone-covered phone buzzed. Usually, when someone disrupted my dancing, i would yell at them, but today was special. "Hello?" I said picking it up, and suddenly acting cool again. Hey, I got a reputation to keep!
"Hey gurrrrrrrlll! Happy B-Day!" The person on the other line said, cooly. "ZOEY!!!" I screamed, full of excitment, forgetting i was supposed to act cool. "No DUH Sophie! Get with it girl! Theres a thing called caller ID, use it." Zoey said smoothly. I smiled at her comeback. I could always count on her to make sure people know their place. "So you wanna do something today?" I said, sitting down on my purple fuzzy couch, looking out the glass window at Times Square below. "Totally! Meet me in the alley." The alley is what we called... well an alley! The alley connects our two apartments. We have meetings down there and its our little hangout spot. "Awesome! Ciao!" I said through the small speaker. Then i hung up.
I dont think i told you about me! Well, I am Sophie Rivers-a BPP, which means Beautiful, Perfect and Popular. We kind of run the school. New York City Academy for Girls. I am the alpha, Zoey is the beta, and there is one other girl named Natalie, but shes not really in the story. Anyway, i have beautiful brunette hair, sparkling green/hazel eyes, perfect teeth and an AMAZING fashion sense, if I do say so myself. My BFF Zoey is a beautiful blonde, with dazzling blue eyes, and glossy lips. Also has an AMAZING fashion sense. We both live in beautiful penthouses in New York, Times Square actually. When we were kids, we used to go to the American Girl Doll store together. We also saw a bunch of people perform on the Today Show. It was pretty fun, actually.
Anyway, back to the story. I got dressed-a comfortable zebra Aeropostale shirt, with white denim jeans, a white Louis Vuitton scarf, black 2'' heels, and a black sweater. I put on my makeup, and tip-toed as quietly as i could (or as quietly as you can in heels) down the stairs, trying not to wake my parents. But when I got down the stairs, i found my parents at the table, sipping black coffee. "Happy birthday sweetie!" My mom Tasha said when she glanced up from the newspaper she was reading. Something about her expression made me think something was wrong. Her usually glittery green eyes were now dull. Her flawless, smiling face was now dreary and worn out. I glanced over at may dad to find he looked the same way.
"Thanks Mom!" I said carefully, as i walked over to hug them. "Are you guys okay?" I asked, preparing for the worst. My father sighed. "Well, sweetie, um, we actually have something to tell you." My Mom rasped, her voice strained and refusing to make eye contact. I walked over to the table and sat down. "Wh-What is it?"
"Well, James, do you want to tell her?" My father shook his head hard, his eyes never leaving the newspaper. "Um... well... we are going on a business trip, which means you have to live with some very close family friends for a year and a half." I felt like i was just stabbed in the chest. I couldnt breathe. My mom was saying something else, but i didnt listen. I just stared at nothing, in complete and utter shock, for about five minutes. I suddenly realized i wasnt breathing and took a big gulp of air. "Wh-Who are your friends?" I asked, my voice shaky, after a moment of silence. My mother breathed heavily. This time it was my dad to talk. "Well, sweetie, they dont live in the area. They acually live in a different state."
Again, i felt a stabbing sensation. "But Daddy!" I whined. Then it hit me. I whispered, "What state, is 'a different state'?" My parents exchanged a worried glance and my mom replied, "Tennessee. We leave in two days. That means you leave tomorrow." I felt that stabbing feeling again, but about 20x harder. I bolted up to my room as my mother called something, but i didnt catch it. I flopped on my bed and sobbed and sobbed. I heared scratching against the hard wood floor and it padded upstairs. I turned around to find my little Pug, Missy, sitting there with her head tilted and her eyes sympathetic. I picked her up and put her on my bed where I cried my heart out into her warm, soft fur.
All of a sudden she got up and bolted out the door and came back a minute later with a small handheld mirror in her mouth and hopped up on my bed and dropped it in my lap. I sniffed and looked into it. I shrieked at the sight of my makeup smeared and mascara running down my now wet cheeks. I got a damp washcloth and cleaned myself up, sniffling as i did so. All of a sudden my phone buzzed. "Missy, dahling can you *sniffle* pleath get thath tho me?" I asked as another tear ran down my cheek. Missy brought my sparkly purple phone to me and I picked it up. I started to whimper again when i saw who txted me.I felt a soft warm tickling on my neck and i turned to see my cat Belle standing next to me purring.
With Belle on my left and Missy in my lap, I opened the txt and
