-Jessie-
My head bolted up as I heard the doorbell ring loudly. I stood to my feet, wobbling a little from vertigo as I rushed downstairs, blinking sleepily.
Three days ago, Angelle and I found a secret cache that wasn’t listed anywhere. It was a small, gold cylinder container with a ‘G’ etched into the side. Angelle and I decided to do more research, but nothing turned up.
I opened the door, squinting my eyes at the bright sunlight, only to go paler than I already was.
It was that rich boy from the news yesterday! He was standing on my doorstep like he owned the place, his hair still messy and his eyes—those eyes though—his eyes were still that icy blue.
“ . . . the hell?” Was the first thing I said, scratching my head sleepily which caused him to raise a brow. Smooth, Jessie, what a first impression. He simply cleared his throat.
“ Are you Jessie Micelles?” He asked in that deep voice of his and flashed a million dollar smile.
“ Are you kidding me?” I grumbled, narrowing my blues at him. “ What time is it?” He glanced down at his wristwatch.
“ Eight-thirty.” He replied dully and looked back up to say something when I oh so angrily cut him off.
“ Are you serious?!” I basically snapped, causing him to blink at me. Nope. I’m not a morning person. “ It’s eight-freaking-thirty in the morning and you wake me up for what? A stupid interview or some other crap?! I was sleeping just fine until you pounded on my door like the frigging policed were here!” The guy blinked some more, obviously shocked by my sudden outburst.
“ L-Look, I’m sorry,” He tried, putting on that fake smile. “ But if you could just—”
“ Oh hell nah.” I hissed, glaring at him. “ You do not come to my house and wake me up at eight-thirty in the freaking morning and expect me to be all unicorns and rainbows about everything, mister!” Now I was up in his personal space, even though he was at least a foot and a half taller than me.
“ I-I—” He stuttered, looking down at me with widened and surprised eyes.
“ Shut up!” I snapped. “ I don’t want to hear a word from you! That’s what I can’t stand about you rich people, you think just because you got a crap load of money, you own the world! News flash! Your money don’t mean crap! You can take your cash and shove it where the sun don’t shine! I’m going back to sleep.” With that, I slammed the door in his face, locking it of course, and trudged up the stairs back to bed.
That was a beautiful first impression.

I blinked.
Then blinked again.
What the hell just happened!?
