Sage's POV

<Flashback>

Drip

Drop

The sound of water hitting the hard floor was the only thing I could hear beside chains rattling. It was cold and quiet where I was. Only the sound of my breathing was proof of human beings that was shown where I was held.

I didn't dare to move a muscle knowing what actions will come behind it. But did it matter?

No, it didn't.

They would always find a reason to come punish me for it and not have a single care in the world of how hurt I am. They just wanted me to break until I can't be fixed anymore.

My arms are tired of being in the air surrounded by tight chains against the cold bare wall. Could I use my quirk? No, it was impossible. I had to deal with whatever situation was thrown at me.

Suddenly I hear the sound of a door creak open with loud footsteps that echoed loudly enough for the person outside the door to hear. It sent chills down my spine to see what would happen next. How would things go this time? Would it be worse than it was yesterday?

Keys jangled like a millions beads fell and scattered across the floor. You could hear the lock be undone and the bars creaking at the sudden movement. You know that no one hasn't been down here to use it like wise.

I slightly open my eyes to only have a view of feet in front of me tapping the floor at a slow pace. I was just curious on what was going to happen next.

"I told you about letting your emotions get to you. Now look, you've made some friends and now they're hurt because of you. Going behind my back to show off a quirk that you don't know how to use. You know what that helps you earn Sage?"

I didn't bother to respond back because I most definitely knew what was going to happen afterwards. There's no way to sugarcoat it since it's what I get.

They forcefully grab my chin, making me look them right in the eyes as they stared back into mines with a blank face. It was left with a murderous aurora that wasn't hidden well.

"Did I not ask you a question and you dare to not respond back? We've been through this multiple, multiple times Sage. You have school tomorrow so I'll try my best to not get you all badly bruised like last time. That was a month of passing out from wearing thick, long clothing."

After that they unlocked my chains as my arms immediately drop to the floor and grabbed me by the collar of my torn bloodied shirt dragging me into the hallway earning all types of dirt that was on the cold floors.

I was dragged into the room where I was at my loudest. This time I promised myself to not be so loud or else I'll be punished even more. They wouldn't care if they said they wouldn't hurt me badly because of school.

I was thrown into a chair with cuffs on them that secured my arms and legs. My heart was a mere second close to beating out of my chest. The only time I was scared for my life was because of this. If only I had been distant from everyone this would've not have happened.

Suddenly I felt a strong, painful wave of energy that flowed throughout my body. I scrunched up my eyes, hands and feet so tightly that I bit my lip to not let any screams surpass the sounds the machine made. Tears threatened to flow down my face but I never let them go.

They began to punch me in the face over in over as blood slipped from the corner of my lip. They looked at me one good time as I glared back at them. Next thing you know they swung their arm towards me and everything went black.

I widen my eyes and raise up with heavy breathing as sweat trickled down my body. Frantically looking around the room I realized that I wasn't in the place anymore. I was alone in bed. I leaned over to check my alarm clock that read 6:34am. I sighed as I got up to change my bedding due to the sweaty mess I've made. I took a hot shower as I let the water fall on my tired body.

I put on some baggy sweats and a shirt with a jacket. I then put on my shoes and grabbed my phone and keys. I walked to the park and sat on the bench as I cleared my head.

Why does that nightmare keep happening? Is there crucial information that I'm missing from it? Today is nothing like the past, I'm sure of it.

I take my hand and run it over my nape on where I cut the back of my hair. That was a sign that I've changed and wanted to start a new. I've changed my old self just to live a better life. I even gave myself 3 piercings in each ear to make myself feel better.

Those moments I felt like a badass. Turns out it was only temporary. Couldn't things get much more worse?

I've sat on the bench for a while with my eyes closed as I focused on breathing in and out. I'm glad today's Saturday. I wouldn't make it through school feeling like this.

I checked the time on my phone that read 8:46am. The sun was almost fully shown in the sky. I jogged back to my apartment and started cleaning. Made myself a strawberry parfait with a side of eggs and mocha coffee.

My phone started to vibrate and ring noting that I've received a message. I pulled out my phone and begin to read it.
