The waves crashed against the sand on the shore of the isle of Mompracem with a gentle caress. A lone man stood on the beach, and watched as the sun slowly bid farewell to the heavens and began to disappear over the horizon.
Though, the man did not come to enjoy the sun's beauty, nor did he come in the dire need of feeling the sun's warm rays on his face as it used to caress it after a day's long journey and his compelling adventures. How could he? The sun no longer seemed as beautiful to him as it used to. Nor did it offer the much needed sense of warmth he so very much longed for in his life. All because of a woman that stole his breath away, and captured his heart.
Now, instead of the sun, all he could see before his eyes was Lady Marianna's captivating face. All he could feel was the trace left behind by her caring and delicate hands on his bearded cheeks.
And all he knew was that his heart yearned to see her again...
