Me and Hermione we're sat there in the library just starting some of our favorite books. "I can't believe it!" Hermione exclaimed as I looked up to see her frustrated face. "The writer of this book has completely gone mad!" I giggled as she continued with her rant. "If both of them we're truly in love they should have just admitted it already!" I quirked an eyebrow and smirked. Hermione caught this look. "What?" she questioned. "Sounds like two people i'm- quite familiar with." I said making sure I empathized the word "quite" She closed her book and quickly turned a bright red color. "That's preposterous!" I smirked and looked away. "You can't keep denying it 'Mione."
The next day was quite- well annoying.
"Ron when you say Harry- is acting.. strange, what exactly do you mean by that?" I asked. "Well first off I tried defending him yesterday and he completely gone bonkers!" He exclaimed. "That's odd." Hermione said. Suddenly the spoken boy walked into the common room. "Morning." he nodded. "Ready?" the three of us nodded in unison, hiding the fact we we're previously talking about him. As we all settled into our seats in DADA. Hermione was talking about something Neville had said earlier. A certain paper bird flew across the room. Behind me I heard Dean challenge Seamus to catch it. "Oh, go on, Seamus. Go on, get it." We all laughed and giggled as it kept flying. Suddenly it turned into ashes falling onto Parvarti and Parma's desk.
I looked around the room to find a certain horrid pink lady pointing her wand toward the bird. "Merlin." I whispered to myself. "Good morning, children." She slowly walked down the aisle of the desk pointing her wand at the board. "Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. O-W-Ls, More commonly known as OWLs." I looked over at Ron and mimicked the word "OWLs" like it was coming out of her mouth. He held in a laugh. "Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so, and the consequences may be severe." She flicked her wand making stacks of books move down the aisles placing them
on our desks. "Your previous instruction in this subject has been disturbingly uneven," I looked down at the book, "Dark Arts Defense.. Basic for Beginners?" I questioned to Hermione as she held a scowl on her face. "But you'll be please to know, from now on you will be following a carefully structured, Ministry- approved course of defensive magic." Hermione held out her hand. "Yes?" She gave me a look and looked down at a page in the book. "There's nothing in here about using defensive spells?" she questioned. "Using spells?!" The pink lady giggled a 'haha' sound. She walked closer to Hermione. "Well, I can't imagine why you would need to use spells in my classroom." I coughed and rolled my eyes. "We're not gonna use magic?" Ron questioned confused. "You'll be learning about defensive spells in a secure, risk-free way." She smiled. "What use is that? If we're attacked, it won't be risk-free-" Suddenly she cut Harry off. "Students will raise their hands when they speak in my class. It is the view of the Ministry, that a theoretical knowledge will be sufficient to get you through your examinations which, after all, is what school is all about-" I was fed up with this. "And how's theory supposed to prepare us for what's out there?!" I exclaimed. She turned her head to me and her smile dropped. "There is nothing out there, dear. Who do you imagine wants to attack children like yourself?" I scoffed. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe Lord Voldemort." The whole class gasped as I realized I said his name. She creepily walked closer to us. "Now, let me make this quite plain. You have been told, that a certain dark wizard is at large once again. This is a lie." Harry looked frustrated. "It's not a lie. I saw him. I fought him!" I looked over at her scrunched up face. "Detention, Mr. Potter." she quickly walked away. "So according to you Cedric Diggory dropped dead of his own accord?!" I budged in. "Detention for both of you!" She took in a breath. "Cedric Diggory's death was a tragic accident." I scoffed and stood up. "It was murder. Voldemort killed him, you must know that-" She screeched "Enough! Enough. See me later, Ms. Stellar and you too Mr. Potter. My office." She giggled as I took my seat again. "These Gryffindor's don't know how to shut up I say." I turned to a blonde haired Slytherin whispering to a girl. Pansy. What did he know?! All he did was torment Harry and our friend group, just because his daddy said so. How pathetic. As me and Harry walked towards our "detention" all I could do was talk about how horrid she looked trying to prove her point. "I mean how rude was that of her?!" I exclaimed as Harry kept his head down walking beside me. "I bet you she knows about Voldemort- Sorry, I bet you she knows and is just trying to get it with Fudge." I laughed, but soon realized Harry wasn't quite listening. "Harry?" I touched his shoulder. "Hm?" he questioned. "Are you alright?" He stopped and then smiled at me. "Yeah, yeah I'm fine." I reluctantly nodded and kept walking. "So, what do you think she's gonna make us do?" I asked. He laughed, "Probably scrub the floors until we have calluses." I giggled at his comment. "I hope not. I'm rather quite fond of my hands."
As we made it into her, awfully pink office, I held in a laugh looking at all of the cat plates on her wall. "Good evening children, sit." She smiled as me and Harry took our seats. "Your going to be doing lines today for me," we both reached for our quills. "No, not with your quill. Your going to be using a rather special one of mine." She handed us both a brown quill. It looks the same to mine. Weird. "What must we write?" I asked. "I want you to write, 'I must not tell lies.'" I scoffed. "How many times?" Harry asked. "Well, let's say for as long as it takes for the message to sink in." Umm, ok? "Hold on, you haven't given us any ink." She turned. "Oh, you won't need any ink." Is she mad? I picked up my quill and started to write. 'I must not tell lies' as I kept writing I felt a sharp pang on my arm but I ignored it. It soon got worse as I wrote. I pulled up my sleeve to see 'I must not tell lies' engraved in my arm. Tears pricked at my eyes. "Ow- ow" I looked over at Harry who looked at me with the same writing on his hand. "Harry-" I started to tear up. "Shh it's ok just mind through it." I nodded and wrote through the pain. She walked over to me and and looked down. "Yes?" she questioned. "N-nothing." She smiled. "That's right, because you know, deep down you deserve to be punished. Don't you, Ms. Stellar?" She looked over at Harry. "Go on."
As me, Ron , and Hermione walked Ron tried to persuade Hermione to do his work. "I'll do the introduction, that's all." She giggled. "Oh Hermione, you're honestly the most wonderful person i've ever met," I slightly smiled at that. " And if i'm ever rude to you again-" She cut him off "I know you'll go back to normal." I smiled and sat down next to Harry who was reading a book. "Ow-" my arm touched Harry's side a bit to roughly. "Nova, What's wrong?" Ron questioned. "Nothing- it's nothing." I smiled. He pulled up my sleeve to see the writing and still-wet blood on my arm. "Bloody hell what did she do to you?!" Ron inspected it. Ron omg I swear. "You've got one too Harry." Hermione held his hand. "You've got to tell Dumbledore." Harry shook his head. "Dumbledore's got enough on his mind right now. Anyway I don't want to give Umbridge the satisfaction." Ron leaned closer. "Bloody hell, Harry. The woman's torturing you two. If the parents knew about this-" Harry budged in, "Yeah well I haven't got any of those, have I, Ron?" I gasped. "Harry..." I touched his arm. "Harry, you've got to report this. It's perfectly simple. You're being-" Harry turned to Hermione. "No, it's not. Hermione, whatever this is, it's not simple. You don't understand." He packed up his things. "Then, help us to." He picked up his bag and left. "I hate Umbridge, but I agree with Harry. I don't think we should tell Dumbledore." I stood up and left the common room. I needed fresh air. I walked outside and down to Hagrid's hut. I missed him. He was the person to talk to in times like this. But of course he, wasn't here. I then saw something flying in the air, a Thestral. I made my into the forest to follow it. I saw so many of them, including...Luna? She had no shoes on petting the strange creature. "Hello Nova." I walked beside her. "Hi Luna. Your feet. Aren't they cold?" She looked down to them. "A bit, Unfortunately, all my shoes have mysteriously disappeared. I suspect Nargles are behind it." She nodded as I smiled. "I like these creatures, they're quite gentle, really, but people avoid them because they're a bit.." I looked over at a baby Thestral, "Different." I finished for her. "I'm sorry again about your mum, Luna." She smiled as we walked towards the baby. "It's alright, she was an extraordinary witch. Her death was rather, horrible. I do feel very sad about it sometimes, but i've got Dad." I patted her shoulder as she handed me a apple to feed the baby.
