Chapter 13

Emily's POV

When we pulled away I looked into his deep blue eyes and I was suddenly in a different place. I was in a glass box surrounding it was nothing. Just me the glass box and nothing, until I felt water seep into my shoes. It was like in the divergent movie. the water got higher and higher until I was submerged into water. When I looked around I wasn't in the glass box anymore. I checked my surroundings again and I saw a red seat above me. Faint carnival music and laughter filled my ears.

I lifted my head up and I was in a dunk tank. I wiped the water away from my eyes but it was still blurry. "Amanda just go under water and never come up." a familiar voice said. The blurry figure threw another ball and I was under the water again.

I tried to reach for air but I couldn't it was like I was stuck, stuck under water and I couldn't get out.

I could hear muffled sounds, "Emily, Emily." The voice got louder the more times I heard the name. "Emily the rides over." he said while laughing a little.

I jumped a little after being woken up. I got off the ride, Hayes starred at me and said, "we have a little more time to go on one last ride." his hands were in his pockets as he was rocked back and forth.

"I think the Ferris wheel was a good way to end the night, we should meet up with Nash." I said

"Ok then, I'll text Nash and say that we're ready." I nodded in response.

It was really awkward during our walk to the front of the carnival.

I felt my phone buzz.

Mom: you are going to stay the night with the Griers. There is a teacher work day at school tomorrow and it is supposed to rain hard and I don't want you home alone. I am going on a 2 day business trip. Melrose is supposed to get back from the city around 11:00 pm tomorrow night and she will pick you up around that time. I already dropped your things off at the Griers so you have nothing to worry about. sorry for the late notice, love you.

I didn't mind that I had to stay with the Griers. I'm kind of used to staying with someone, or home alone because my mom took a lot of business trips.

I showed Hayes the text that my mom sent me and he lit up. he picked me up and twirled me around and said," I can't wait to spend another day with you." It was kind of weird being that he hadn't hardly said anything since the kiss.

We found Nash and jumped on the car to go home. Hayes was now back to his own self again. I guess he was just nervous around me since we just kissed, I didn't know how he felt about it. I guess I'll just have to find out
