And then everything was gone again
Glitch opened her eyes and looked around. She was on her bed.... the song was in the background. She had fallen asleep, her whole encounter was a dream.... why did it have to be a dream? I mean she knew it wasn't real... but... she could still wish.
Glitch sighed and positioned herself upward, now sitting up on her bed. She would've reached over for her phone and checked the time... it was five in the morning. Her eyes panned down to the notifications and the spam from Sunny. She had been texting her.... shit....The messages.... they made Glitch feel like an ass.
"Glitch... you didn't upset me don't worry... I just wanna know if your okay. You tend to overthink... so please let me know" sent at midnight. "Glitch...?" Sent at twelve fifteen.... "I'm sorry...." sent at one in the morning... a cycle of this until two in the morning. Glitch felt sick to her stomach. Shit. "I'm so sorry Sunny... I'm okay now— I swear. I just fell asleep... please take care of yourself" Glitch typed quickly and sent knowing she probably wouldn't get a response till later...right? Nope she was wrong her response was instant. "GLITCH YOUR OKAY! THANK GOD!!!" Sunny had responded right away surprising Glitch. She laughed softly.
"Of course.... why aren't you sleeping?" Glitch asked confused why she would be awake.
"Well it's easy.... I just can't sleep easily. Sooo I'm normally awake and crazy— sometimes I run off to the beaches nearby. Florida stuff ya know— I just wanna tire myself out..." Sunny responded with this catching Glitch off guard. She thought Sunny at least had some sorta sleep schedule but then again.... they where both twitch streamers....
self care guys do you not know it—? Jesus Christ.
"Hmmm is there anyway I can help—?" Glitch asked.
"I don't know... I normally sleep better with people... but I live alone now so it's a weird adjustment issue I guess... I'm used to my parents checking in but now they aren't here. I have Oreo but she likes to sleep on the sofa and I like the bed so yeah...." Sunny's explanation made Glitch's heart shatter a bit— she wanted to hug her and help her... she wanted to be there with her... idea.
"Sunny do you wanna have a sleepover over a call? You don't have to show me your face, and I don't have to show you mine in return. If you don't wanna expose our identities yet.... this sounds weird... sorry" Glitch sent her message with instant regret.
"Sure!" Sunny responded. She probably wanted to see how this would go. Glitch became embarrassed of her surroundings slightly but pushed it aside wanting to help Sunny was more important. She called the girl and laid her phone on the side. Sunny's face was facing the outline of the girl... her face masked by the shadows. Silence.
Silence.
Silence.
"Glitch—?"
"Yes Sunny..?"
"Thank you..."
"Anytime..."
"Goodnight Glitch..."
"Goodnight Sunny..."
They both went to sleep that night on the call....
