I hate Christmas. I hate everything about it. From all the snow and all the happy people, all the gift giving. Everything. You probably think I'm crazy. I mean who could really hate Christmas? I must be a lunatic, or an Athiest. (I'm not by the way, if you were wondering.) I guess I understand why you're probably annoyed by me and want ever so badly to just come through to me and show me on what I'm missing out.To be honest, I understand where you're coming from because I myself, was once like you. A gift giving, hot chocolate making, Home Alone watching, innocent child. But now I'm grown and know much more of the world that I learned much earlier then I should have.

It all began on my 10th birthday, Christmas eve.

"Mommy I can't wait for everyone to come! This is going to be so much fun!"

Abagail had planned out her 10th birthday since she was 8, and for her that was a really long time. She had all the games, activities and supplies all ready. Her friends were all going to love it. Her mother simply shook her head and giggled at her daughter's excitment.

"Come on snowflake, lets go get dressed." Her mother said while dragging her up the stairs to get ready for their guests.

Her mother, Ivory, was wearing her favourite green Christmas dress. She dressed her daughter in a white fur dress, applied on bright red lipstick and pretty pumps, before searching the room for her lip liner.

As she applied on her lipstick, she noticed Abagail watching her intently. She had her eyes glued on her mother's lipstick, fascinated with it. Ivory continued applying it slowly, gliding it across her lips then puckering her lips and giving the mirror a quick kiss. Abagail's eyes widened in confusion as her mother simply laughed and walked towards her closet to find a matching purse.

Abagail waited patiently for her first few friends to arrive. The house was decorated with balloons and streamers and lots of girly accesories. The room smelled of cupcakes and cinnamon. Her mother liked to boil cinammon and orange peels during the holidays, something Abagail always looked forward too.

The Christmas tree was already up and the fire place was about to be burned.

Abagail heard a few faint knocks on the door and sprung in excitement to see who finally came.

She was greeted with her dad and three of her friends from school. All her cousins and family had also aarrived in diffrent cars. She squeled and gave everyone each a hug. She didn't wait for her aunt Devine and other family members to bring all the stuff in, Abby just dragged all her friends to the living room and wanted to get straight to playing.

"Abby! I'm going to pick up Marilyn and Serena, can I trust you'll keep all the guests entertained?" Her mother asked with slight sarcasim.

Obviously she would keep them entertained, Abby was more excited then anyone else was.

She simply nodded and shood her mom away when she tried to reach for a kiss.

Ivory simply chuckled and shook her head at her daughter.

"I love you Snowflake." He mom said before leaving the room.

"Love you too mommy." She reached up to give a quick kiss on her mom's cheek before going back to her party.

Her friends were all playing and munching on the snacks her mom brought out. They got to make their own hot chocolate, add sprinkles or marshmallows or cinnamon. It was all a fun and festive time, thats why Abby loved the holidays. Her grandmother was on her way with her uncle and tons of food she always made for her favourite granddaughter.
