James

"Lily Potter. That sounds good right?" James grinned.

"That's if she stops hating you James." Sirius grinned.

"I have an idea." James smirked.

"Oh god, I don't like the sound of that." Remus groaned.

"Well don't let us stop you, carry on, what's your idea." Peter grinned, as he popped a Bertie Bots every flavor bean in his mouth.

"I'm going to ask her out, every day for a while year." James grinned proudly.

"No." Sirius and Remus groaned at the same time.

"Fine, I'll just win her over some other way then." James rolled his eyes.

"Silence boys, I'm not going to tell you again." Mcgonagall sighs, secretly listening into the conversation the four were having.

"Anyway, what are you all doing this Christmas break?" James questioned, ignoring Mcgonagalls order.

"Going home." Remus and Peter grinned.

"Might be staying at yours James, no idea yet." Sirius smirked.

"Esmeralda is the favorite child, we just need her to convince my mother." James grinned.

"Well then, let's go have a look for her shall we?" Sirius grinned as he jumped to his feet, James jumping up beside him.

"And we're do you think you're going?" Mcgonagall raises an eyebrow at the two as they stood up.

"Can we leave now Professor, I promise we'll never speak in your class ever again." Sirius smiles sweetly to Mcgonagall.

"I'll get on my knees and beg if that's what it takes." James adds on, quickly dropping to his knees.

"There's no need for all that, just get out of my sight." Mcgonagall shoos them away.

The four waste no time in jumping to their feet and running out the door.

Esmeralda

Regulus and Lily ended up doing homework, Esmeralda sat bored, playing with her quill. When she got a great idea.

She began to carve into the table.

"What are you doing?" Regulus chuckled, causing Lily to look at Esmeralda.

"This." Esmeralda chuckled as she swiped away some wood chips.

Carved into the table read,

L, E & R was here

"That's cute." Lily chuckled slightly. "But it's missing something."

"What?" Esmeralda asked.

Lily carved a heart around it.

"That." Causing Esmeralda and Regulus to chuckle, and suddenly the old smell of books didn't seem so bad.

James grinned, watching Sirius and Peter shove each other into walls, his arm around Remus, who was hiding a smile at the two.

The corridor was filled with the four Gryffindors laughter, other students sat around talking and sharing a chocolate frog together.

This was home. With people he loved more then he loved himself, his non blood family.

"Oi, Sirius, stop bullying poor Peter." James shouted out to his mate. Sirius turned and held up a finger, just as peter shoved him.
