Unconscience Flashback

Location: Ripper the Indoraptor's Cell/Cage
Timeframe: years before the events of Fallen Kingdom,

I was bored, pacing back and forth in my cage trying to focus my attention on something else other then the hunger burning in my stomach.

In the past I have had to complete tests such as fighting wild animals or running for long periods of time, but recently they had began doing a form of endurance testing on me. It might seem strange that they would spend all this money making me, just to not feed me. However from what I could piece together is that they were trying to see how well their "prototype" operates with reduced food intake.

As I was gnawing on a rib from my last prey, a goat was suddenly pushed into the cage with me.

My eyes focused onto the goat and my hungry jaws salvated, as I waited for the laser to appear. Which was a routine they had recently started. If I attacked the prey without hearing the buzzer I knew from experience that they would take it from me and mostly likely shock me as well. So I waited patiently, holding back on attacking until I was given the signal...

While I was waiting for the signal to eat, out of my peripheral vision I saw a guard aim a pistol at my side from outside the cell

Bang

I felt searing pain in my right shoulder, my eyes teared up and I held back a whine but I still waited for the signal, not wanting to miss my chance to eat.

[Just a little bit longer] I thought to myself and I tried to focus through the pain in my shoulder and stomach

But suddenly mutiple hands grabbed me and held me down. I struggled against their grip, but I was only able to squirm around for a couple seconds before the hands held me down again. This time with more force. Unfortunately, I was not big enough yet to just simply shrug them off.

I was able to look at one of the scientist's name tag, "Dr. Wu" it read. I held back a growl as I looked at the man who I deemed responsible for all of this.

Dr. Wu looked at my shoulder and his gloved hands touched the scales that were hit by the bullet, which caused the pain to flare

"Tell me what do you see?" Dr. Wu spoke to one of his assistants as he pointed to my injuried shoulder

"Sir, I would say the bullet resistant scales are a huge success! The subject took a pistol caliber round at this early of a growing stage and it did not even penetrate! Although the scales at the impact site are cracked a bit, he will probably heal ok" The man said and they sounded happy

"Good, now draw his blood and that's it for today" Dr. Wu sounded pleased with his assistant like he passed some sort of a test

I felt a syringe enter a soft point in my neck and upon feeling pain I tried to resist but the hands kept holding me down.
Being helpless to defend myself as they were drawing blood from me, I decided to pass the time by watching the goat, which was standing six feet away and was completely oblivious to me and my struggles.

I looked at it and saw it's almost blank expression, along with the carefree look in it's eyes. I started feeling a strong hatred towards the goat. The goat was not experimented upon or forced to do tricks for food.

As I was brooding about how unjust this situation was, the hands finally let go of me. I quickly turned to the goat, just as I heard the buzzer sound! Which meant I could finally eat!

I pounced and the goat upon finally being aware of the danger it was in, tried to move out of the way, but I was faster.

My jaws clamped into soft flesh on its throat, which caused blood to pour into my mouth as my sharp teeth cut through arteries. I felt the goat struggling, so I jammed my sharp claws into its side until it finally stopped moving. I then feasted, swallowing flesh and savoring the feeling of food finally being in my stomach.
