"Let loose and smile", Were the first words you spoke to me and I will forever be grateful for it.

The first time we met wasn't exactly fireworks. We had our differences and we both knew that. I thought you were careless and reckless, and you thought I was stuck up and boring. But we were good for each other, almost like a cure we never knew we needed till we got it.

What led us to become best friends is so lame but it's our story, care to tell it? No? I guess I will.

It started when we both got detention.

"What are you doing here? Don't you have something boring to do? You know like reading?", Nina asked me and at the time we didn't know it would be the question to spark our interest.

I stared at her unamused by her statement, "No. Don't you have a building to vandalize? Any trouble to get into?"

Nina looked surprised I even said something almost like she was expecting me to stay silent. She snapped back with, "Oh wow you talk Miller, and you're actually pretty funny too."

"It's Sam", I snapped back.

"Hey I have a funny idea, let's bust out of here", Nina had a crazy look in her eyes. I didn't know what that look meant then, but now every time I see it I knew something great was about to happen.

"W-What? Are you crazy? We'll get in trouble", I can't believe I actually used to tell you your schemes were crazy.

"That's the fun part Miller", She had a big grin on her face at this point and the look of mischief in her eyes.

I looked at her shocked, realizing she was dead serious about her plan, "It's Sam, and Nina, how do you know we could get away?"

The teacher walked in and Nina whispered to me, "That's the fun part, not knowing."

With that Nina grabbed my hand and bolts out the door. It was truly exhilarating and she was right the chase was the best high you could achieve.

"YOU GIRLS GET BACK HERE!", the teacher who was in charge instantly started screaming and telling us to get back. They got all the staff that was left to chase us. A part of me knew there was no escaping, and even if we did manage we'd be right back in detention the next day.

And we were.

But it was all worth it. I met my best friend, someone who I thought would be by my side for the rest of my life. Even though she won't be by my side for the rest of my life it felt good knowing I was by hers for the rest of her life. I know she'll always be with me even if I can't see her

And with that I'd like to remind you all to "Let loose and smile", best said by my beautiful best friend Nina Marie Wilson.
