"for fucks sake WAKE THE FUCK UP," mina yelled as i opened my eyes frantically.
"WHAAAAAAAT"
"oh nothing i was just really bored and nobody else was up so i figured i'd wake you up so we could hang out," she said sheepishly.
i walked into the bathroom laughing as she sat on my bed on her phone.
"let me shower and get ready okay," i shouted as i turned the water on.
i was in the middle of a dream. a dream that included todoroki.
am i weird for dreaming about him? no i can't be the only girl who dreams about their crushes.. is he a crush? oh my god
as i showered i thought about him. "his quirk is kind of like mine, he has fire and ice while i have 'heaven' and 'hellish' powers," i said aloud as i washed my hair.
ugh i hate this. every time i wash my hair, small strands come out- ugh i hate my hair.
as i came out the shower, i looked into the mirror. i wasn't particularly fat, but i wasn't skinny either. my stomach wasn't flat and well my arms looked kinda chubby. my hair was pin straight and it was plain brown.

when i was younger i was bullied a lot. my parents weren't rich, they couldn't get me everything i needed. i started to study martial arts but my body still wouldn't get skinny. i mean sure i was told i was pretty and smart but i never FELT pretty and smart. when i found out my quirk could do amazing things i was put in the spotlight. and sure the spot light was cool at first but then came the set backs.
"she's not even pretty though,"
"she's the one with the cool quirk? why her? she's not special"
"i thought the girl with the badass quirk was hot?"
my self confidence plummeted. sure i was cool, and everyone thought i was cool but i just never felt it. when i was accepted into UA it wasn't a surprise but what was a surprise was the fact that the girls here actually liked me. they weren't mean and they meant their compliments.

when i left the bathroom to get my clothes i saw mina looking at me.
"hey y/n," she said as she left the bed coming up to me, "you look really pretty."
"that's random," i said laughing awkwardly.
i never know how to take a compliment.
"i'm just saying. you know if you curled your hair did a little bit of makeup, you would look really really pretty," she said smiling.
"well you wanna give me a little makeover then?" i asked as her face lit up and she excitedly did a little jump.
"YES"
"okay well let me get dressed okay," i said laughing at her excitement.
as she did my hair and makeup i couldn't help but think, "am i really pretty?"
it was a question i wondered time and time again. i never really knew the answer. i could feel really pretty at times, but i could also feel really really ugly at times too.
when mina finally let me look in the mirror i was amazed.
my usual tangled long brown hair, was combed and loosely curled.
they''ll go flat. my hair is too thick for this.
my skin was a big insecurity for me. i didn't have a pretty color of skin. but wow with the makeup mina did, i actually looked kinda pretty.
"wow y/n you look amazing," she said looking at you in the mirror.
"mina," i said blushing as she laughed and sat on my bed.
"so what now?" i asked as i opened my closet door and put on some shorts and a plain black tee.
"we could go hang out in the common area while we wait for the other girls to get ready. they all woke up and want to hang today," she said grabbing my phone and handing it to me. as we walked to the common area we ran into denki and mineta. i was too busy thinking about running into todoroki, i didn't even feel them looking at me.
"y/n has some nice-," mineta began.
"please do not be vulgar mineta," a voice said suddenly.
it's him.
as i turned around i saw todoroki looking down at the pervert.
my cheeks began to flush as he looked towards me and smiled. mina nudged my arm and i blushed harder as i thanked him for looking out for me. he walked back into his room as i turned towards mina.
"ooooo looks like y/n has a crush," mina said giggling.
"on him? really? i didn't think he was your type," denki said laughing when you blushed even harder than you already were.
"let's not talk about this- what about mina having a crush on kirishima," i said making mina blush and denki laugh harder.
"oh please like your any better denki you like jirou," mina said causing denki to blush as hard as me. after all was said and done we went down into the commons area and waited for the girls.
*todoroki's pov*
as i was walking back to my room i walked past mina and y/n.
she looks different- but it's not bad different. she looks really pretty. oh god- is this what a crush is like?
she was deep into thought and didn't even hear mineta make nasty comments about her.
"please do not be vulgar mineta," i said as she turned and looked furious at him.
i looked towards her and she made eye contact with me. as i looked at her i could see her brown eyes flash.
god she's really pretty-
i smiled and turned and walked back to my room. before i entered i heard mina say, "ooooo looks like y/n has a crush."
shit. shit. shit. shit. i'm blushing again. i need to get into my room before she sees.
as i basically slammed my door i went and sat on my bed.
could she really like someone like me?
i never really thought about girls. but once i saw her- something changed in me. she made my heart jump every time she talked. and she had a quirk similar to mine. she really had an effect on me.
she has to be mine. i just can't see her with anyone else. she's so amazing and smart and pretty- god is this what it's like to have feelings for someone? ive got to talk to her. soon.
