You were scrolling through TikTok one Friday morning during class. Your teacher, Mrs. Robinson, was sick and the sub was giving your class a free day since finals were right around the corner.
As you scrolled through the seemingly endless videos, you suddenly came across one of your friend Danny's that had 'Sweet Caroline' as the sound. You turned the volume up on your headphones and started to laugh quietly at the sound of the distorted "ba ba bah" at the end of video. Realizing you had forgotten to read the captions, you scrolled down and then back up to watch the video again. This time, you didn't laugh. The second caption read: "an overwhelming amount of stress, anxiety, and self hate." You slowly lifted your head to look at Danny, who was sitting across the room. To your surprise, the two of you made eye contact.
The staring contest lasted for a few seconds before Danny held up his coffee cup and a can of Red Bull. To your surprise, he opened the Red Bull and poured it into his coffee, never breaking the stare. Putting the lid back on his coffee, Danny mouthed: "I'm gonna die" before taking a huge sip of the disgusting monster of caffeine he had created. You burst into laughter just as the bell rang. When Danny got up from his seat, you crossed the room with your planner open and tapped the page for him to see.
"You look like you need mental help," you said. "Do you want to go to the coffee house after school for muffins again? I'm free." Danny smiled.
"Sounds like therapy to me."
