Since the beginning of time there have always been vampires in this world. Nobody knows how, it just happened.
More and more children being turned meant more and more lives in danger.
After thousands of years of unending torment for the children, the people of the world decided to send all of the newborn children of that year to an island so that they could be protected. They would also be given medicines so that they could grow an immunity to the vampires if they ever were to get bit.
But... they didn't realize that they accidentally sent a newborn vampire there too. Nobody got hurt. Nobody was bitten because that child had one friend. A friend who was willing to do anything to protect the child.
That was eighteen years ago. Now the children are all fifteen and their friendships are a little more risky.
