"Today is the day" Ross said to himself as he stood in front of the mirror in his bedroom. "Today is the day, that I can finally be normal" his tail flicks up in the air as he says this "or at least I can act normal"
"Ross are you ready yet!" Yelled his mom from the kitchen.
"Almost I'm just grabbing my beanie!" He grabs it then slips it over his head to hide the flicking cat ears protruding from it. Ross them dashes out his bedroom door and towards his mom.
"Oh, what did I say about running in the house, you're going to break something" She says in a worried tone.
"Mom would you just relax" Ross sits down at the table where a plate of eggs and bacon await his grumbling stomach "Mmm, looks delicious Mom"
"Well it better, it took me forever to get it just right" Ross' mom glances over at him as he eats, watching his tail flick back and forth "So are you excited to finnaly start public school?"
Ross takes a pause from eating, and wipes his face with a napkin "Well yeah Mom I'm ecstatic, I can finnaly make real friends"
"Oh so now you're too good for Mr. Bun Bun" She says, teasing Ross.
"Oh no he's great company" Ross says sarcastically "Me and him have tons of in depth conversations" This makes his mom chuckle "but you know it might be fun to go out and meet some real people"
Ross' mom glances at a watch on her wrist "Then you better get going or you're going to be late for your first day"
Ross looks at the wall clock, "Oh you're right" he scarfs down the rest of his breakfast and goes and puts his plate in the sink. Ross then walks off to grab his bag and then makes his way towards the door, he turns around to his mom "Well Mom looks like I'll see you after school"
Ross' mom walks up to him and puts her hands on his cheeks with a sad look on her face "Just be careful out there ok?"
Ross takes his mom's hands into his own and looks into her eyes "I will Mom, I promise"
"Ok then you better be off" she says as she wipes tears, forming on her eyes "and don't forget to tuck in your tail"
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot" Ross tucks his tail into his pants and opens the door, he takes a deep breathe of the fresh air and bolts off, towards school.
His mom, watches him go off at the door "Oh, please be safe my little kitten" she says to herself before closing the door.
