Heart beating hard,
Her mind is blank,
It seemed like the world paused,
It seemed like she couldn't breathe, she suddenly started gasping for air
The air felt thick
She had to get out of this place
This room
This house
She had to go she just knew she needed to to move her legs
So she focused on that.
Slowly,
Each step taken with laboured breaths,
Each step causing water works from her eyes
couldn't stop she just had to keep going
With head held high,
She left the house,
His house
Once her foot landed on the streets once again
In the middle of the night
No movement no sounds around her
The once bustling streets of lagos was quiet
Each step she took out of his pavement
Bit by bit
Reality dawned on her.
And like a little baby she fell on the ground and let her sobs come out more louder...
She let the sadness enveloping her heart take over
She let it all out
She screamed,
When no one came to save her,
She knew that this was it,
This was what she had feared most...
A broken heart.
