Chapter 1 The Begaing of Our Story

             My name is Katy Foster, I'm only 13 and I have light red hair and like blue eyes like my dad. Who I don't remember much because he walked out on my mom. Once he found out she was pregnant with my sister Lilly, when I was 10. He was never really around aways so I really don't know much about him.

              I know your wondering why I don't live with my mom? She died not even a year after having Lilly. She died in a car accident when both Lilly and I were in the back seat. It was raining and dark. The signal turned green as she started to pull off the power when out. The car in the opposite turn lane took off not knowing we where there and the he hit us. We ended up by the street corner. I called out for my mom but she was unresponsive. I looked at Lilly realizing she was out cold! I began to cry as I checked for a pulse. She began to cry scaring me half to death. I tried to move to get my phone only to realize my leg was pinned and it was still in my pocket. I was shocked that it wasn't cracked or broken. I quickly called 911. But zoned out after I hung up not remembering anything really after.

                Later that night or i think it was night, I woke up hooked up to I-V. I began to freak out "where am I! Help! I've been kidnapped! Get me out of here! Please someone!" That's when nurses came running in and I also realized I was in a hospital. They calmed me down but just as they did I looked around the room to find no mom or Lilly I began to scream at the top of my lungs "WHERE ARE MY MOM AND LILLY?!?!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM! BRING THEM IN HERE! NOW!" I began to cry my eyes out when I saw the look on the nurses face. "No. Please. No this cant be happening. I need them they are all I have left. I don't have any one else but them. Please do something anything. Just please." She hugged me and told me "Your mom is in surgery now and the baby Lilly was unresponsive when they brought her in. Would you like to go see how she is doing? I would take you, oh and my name is Daniela. Dani for short what's your name sweetheart?" I managed to get out some that sounded like, "K-K- Katy"

She took me in a wheelchair down to child care. The minute she stopped in front of Lilly's room I got out of the chair only to fall hard to the floor. I tried getting up with the help of Dani. She helped me over to the side of Lilly's bed, where I sat for what seemed like hours talking to her. I asked,"Lilly sweety?" ... "Come on baby girl I'm right here." Then I felt it she gently squeezed my hand as I lay next to her. I turned to Dani in tears and told her what happened. Just then Lilly started crying as I hugged her trying to hold back my pain."

           A couple of minutes later doctors came to make sure she was okay and asked me to step out. Dani told my mom didn't make it through the surgery. I fell into tears in the middle of the floor. Getting looks from people all around me. I managed to yell "What? What are you guys stareing at? Havent you ever seen a ten year old cry!" I didnt know what I was going to do at that point. How was I suppose to take care of Lilly or where would we go?

(End of flashback, present day, Katy's p.o.v.)

I've been in 3 different foster homes since the accident. I put on my Batman PJs and laid in my bed rocking Lilly in my arms. Just as I started to sing waka waka by shakira

"Katy sweetie please get dressed I have have people interested in adopting some one", Chris my caretaker said.

"OK this is point less I'll just end up back here." I snapped

"Nonsense now come on hurry." Yelled Chris as she walked out of the room. I grabbed a Captain America crop top and black shorts that where hannded down by other girls and slipped them on. I put on slippers and grabbed a clean shirt and socks for Lilly leaving her in her same shorts. After changing I picked up Lilly and walked down the stairs waiting to see the new mom and dad of one of us but instead there where 5 guys. What the Frick?
