I screamed at the top of my lungs as i felt the cold, salty tears stream down my already red and puffy cheeks. The darkness consumed me, as I fell into a deep, motionless demise. A short breath of air taken out of my very body. a wave of reality came into place as well, when I heard my door open.
I bolted up at such a fast speed, my back cracked and my breathing became heavier.
"Liliana?"
"Mommy?" I asked. Only then did I feel the actual tears streaming down my face, my actually red and puffy cheeks. Her warmth spread around me, as I sobbed into her fuzzy pajama shirt.
"Did you have a nightmare? I could hear you from across the house" her voice in a low, comforting tone. I didn't answer, I was too scared. Was I dreaming? No, it couldn't have been. It was all too real. The memory of the dream came back and I sobbed louder.
"Shhhh. Do you want to sleep in my room tonight?" I shook my head. I was a big girl now, and big girls don't sleep in their mom's room.
"Do you want Gizmo then?"
"Yes please" I whispered. She started to leave, when I grabbed her arm.
"Please don't leave me" More tears.
"Gizmo!" She called to her. We heard her jingle of her collar bells as she ran over to my room. Mom put her onto the bed, kissed my head, and said,
"Goodnight, baby" I could hear her feet drifting away while my eyelids drooped. The darkness filling the air, along the strong scent of sleep.
