Megaman X9: The Meaning of Love

Chapter 1: Introduction

May 10, 21XX Maverick Hunter HQ

The sun was slowly beginning to set over the horizon.
The town was bustling with humans and reploids living in harmony.
Looking over the scene was MegaMan X.
X was Dr. Thomas Light's last creation.
Dr. Light had hope that X would bring a new age of prosperity.
However, at different points, Mavericks have laid waste to cities across the world.
"How long will this war last?" X thought.
"Why can't we just get through our lives without death and destruction?"
X has always been forced to fight in the Maverick Wars, with his only goal is to bring peace.
However, as he continues to fight, more and more mavericks have stirred up and have caused destruction for the reploid.
It seems that there was no end in sight for X.

Meanwhile, within one of the residence rooms laid a single female reploid.
Alia was X's navigator ever since the first outbreak of Mavericks.
She was previously a scientist working alongside the reploid, Gate.
However, Gate soon changed and eventually went maverick.
Alia left her former profession and become part of the Maverick Hunters.
She was even part of the destruction of her former coworker.
"This is the first time in a while that I have been able to lay in my bed."
"With all the recent activities, it's such a relief to get a break."
She turned over and looked over to a picture frame.
It was picture of her with X and his best friend Zero, taken the first day on her job.
"Has it really been that long since I joined?"

Several years ago
Alia was walking towards her new job at Maverick Hunter HQ.
"Ok Alia, you can do this."
"This is a brand new start for me and maybe a chance to make things right with Gate."
She stepped through the front doors and walked towards the front desk.
"Excuse me?"
"May I help you?"
"I'm here for the navigator position."
"Go towards the back and make a right and it's the first room on your left."
"Thank you so much."
Alia traveled via the directions given and enter into a brightly-lit room with two chairs opposite of each other.
She sit down in one and waited for her interviewee to arrive.
The door opened to reveal a young man wearing blue armor.
"Hello there, you must be here for the navigator position right?"
"Y-Yes sir, I'm h-here f-for the p-position."
"Easy, relax, there's no need to feel nervous."
"S-sorry."
"Now then, let's begin."

Hours later
Alia was waiting patiently for the confirmation of her new position in the lobby.
"Ms. Alia?"
"Yes?"
"Congratulations, you have been hired."
Alia couldn't believe it.
She had just been accepted as a Maverick Hunter.
"Thank you so much. I promise I won't let you down!"
"Now, it seems that you have been assigned to me and Zero."
"Oh, well I hope we get along, Mr...."
"Oh, I'm MegaMan X, you can just call me X."
"Ok X, looking forward to working with you."

Present
Alia was remembering old times when the alarms blared.
"Attention Attention Please report to your stations at this time! Maverick activity has been spotted within city limit!"
Alia got out of bed and quickly went to her station.
"I just hope it's nothing too serious."

Outskirts
An individual stood over the horizon while looking towards destruction being caused currently.
"Soon, the whole world will fall to its knees."

Hey everyone, J-Dug02 is finally back after all this time. Life just kept getting in the way and some of my equipment was stolen. Now, I'm finally back with brand-new ideas. But, first, I re-read my old stories and noticed some problems with them. So, I decided to give them a fresh coat of paint. The release schedule will mainly depend on my schedule.
