Bahrain, 10th March, 2021.
- Lando Norris get your fat ass out of this bed, you're going to be late - I said trying to wake up the driver that didn't seem to budge
- Chloe just get back to bed, I wanna cuddle - He said pulling his arms in my direction and closing his eyes again
- Ok, if you don't want to wake up that's your problem, I'm going to get breakfast and meet Daniel before he shows up here and sees you - I said annoyed at his laziness and taking my bag to leave as soon as I realized he had actually fallen back to sleep.
Seriously? He's the one to get the lecture not me and I tried to wake him up. Three times.
The pre season testing was starting in two days but because of the different time zone some teams choose to come earlier than usual which is why instead of flying on Wednesday as usual we flew yesterday, Tuesday. Although is for people to get used to it, doesn't mean it won't have meetings and stuff like it, but today Zak decided on a team gathering breakfast, which is why I'm telling you right now, Norris will be in trouble.
Flying with McLaren was kinda terrifying for me, I know people but I'm not that close to any of them yet and Daniel and Michael both were flying straight from Monaco and a long fly by myself wasn't exactly what I was looking for. Luckily Lando found some excuse to switch places with Henrik who I actually adore to talk to, but for a long flight Lando's company was definitely the best choice for me.
Other than that the only thing terrifying me at the moment was the fact that this would be a little taste of my job and it was actually terrifying to think about it as it got close, sometimes I still doubt myself if agreeing to this was the right choice. I guess I'll find out through the season.
My first date with Lando had been almost a month ago and through this period with went in another two official one's until we actually got tired of naming them as dates. We hang out a lot of times after that, he definitely made up for the lack of socialization I had in the UK and everyday it got weirder but nicer whatever sort of friendship with benefits we have.
- Morning peeps - I said kissing my cousin's cheek and seating next to him in one of the many tables in the reserved restaurant
- How are you not jet lagged? - Michael asked me and I shrugged
- I slept since we landed - I pointed out, which was true, the only time I was awake was when Lando woke me up to enter my bedroom but I fell back asleep probably five minutes after he started cuddling me
- I forget sometimes that sleeping most of the times is not an issue for you - Dan said and I laughed agreeing - I ordered American pancakes and strawberries and nutella for us - He said knowing this was our go to breakfast, like, always.
- I didn't allow it - Michael pointed out laughing - But it did look good so one time won't kill
- Good morning - Zak sat down next to Michael with Andreas at his side - Where's Lando? - He asked and we all shrugged although I knew where he was
- He'll be late, we need to give an alarm clock for him - Andreas said and we all laughed nodding
- Just order him the same I did, he will love it and it will be ready when he gets down - Daniel said and the boss nodded while Dan placed another order like ours
- Anyone seen my driver? - Jon asked seating next to Daniel and we all laughed denying - I've been calling him for thirty minutes
- Found him - Andreas said pointing behind me and I turned just to see him running inside the restaurant area
- Morning Norris, slept well? - Daniel asked ironically while Lando waved at everyone and sat in the empty space next to me
- Amazingly Ricciardo, best sleep in a week - He said squeezing my thigh and referencing that it's been exactly a week since one of us had slept over
- We could see it - Zak laughed finding funny the face of his driver that gave away the fact he had just woken up
- IS HERE - Daniel said excited shaking me while our breakfast arrived and I smiled ear to ear seeing the plate in front of me
- You guys just lost them, they'll be completely focus on their food - Michael said while Zak was talking about something with the rest of the table and Daniel and I shared comments about our food while eating
- It's really good - Lando mentioned eating it since it was the same as ours
- They really love it, don't them? - Jon joked and he laughed nodding
- Their favorite breakfast ever, but they will eat this anytime of the day.
Daniel and I had decided to take on a cousins day and it consisted on us being at the paddock to watch the last day of pre season testing of Formula 2. Oscar Piastri was racing in Formula 2 and the Australian earned a soft spot with my cousin after they met through Renault, now Alpine.
Oscar was a really good driver, he had talent and I could see him in Formula 1 someday and Daniel was really hoping he would be his successor to represent Australia in the category. Which is why somehow he managed to convince the Prema Team to let us be inside their space during the testing.
- You killed it - I said after Oscar took his helmet off, I considered him my little brother, not only did we come from the same country but he was also two years younger than me and I loved to threat him as a kid sometimes just to piss him off.
- Thanks C - He said hugging me - Can we talk later? I'll be here for the testing of Formula 1 - He explained and I nodded excitedly
- Mate, for the first time in the car it was amazing - Daniel said complimenting him
- Let's just hope during the actual season it goes well - He said smiling a little and we nodded
- We're gonna go, I know this is the worst moment of after testing, good luck in the meetings and text us to meet up.
- I'll, don't worry - He said saying goodbye and we walked out saying goodbye to the Prema staff
- He'll be incredible. - Daniel said and I nodded
- Him and Vips might be the best on track right now - I said remembering the performance of both drivers today
- Can you drive? I'm tired - He said smiling sheepishly at me and I rolled my eyes taking the keys from him
- If I crash tell Zak it was your fault. - I said starting to reverse it out of the parking spot.
