Flashes of light. Screaming. Fighting, grunts. A cold metal-like taste in my mouth. Blood.
A young girl, limp on the floor. Drowning in the sea of blood seeping around her.
A roar. Anger. Something primal. A beast. Stirring inside me.
Surges of energy. Stronger than I had ever felt. Power coarsing through me.
A sharp sting in my side. Looking down. A dart sticking out.
Numbness spreading through my limbs. Eyes drooping. Head growing heavier.
Rough hands grabbing my arms. Preventing me. Stopping me from helping her.
Vision blocked. A sack stuffed over my head. Stumbling forward.
Sticks poking me. Being pushed into something. A box. A cage.
Bleeding. Drugged. Confused.
Another scream.

Jerking awake, I gasped for air. Cold stone, blood, and animals; new smells filled my nose as I inhaled deeply. Trying to figure out what happened. Where I was. Slowly sitting up, I winced, feeling the multiple bruises all over my body. Sharp pain shot through me as I groaned, finally managing to push myself into a sitting position. Back leaning against the wall, body limp and feeble. Tired. The drugs they had injected probably still coursing through my veins.
"Oh great. Another one."
"Shhhh, he's getting up. Be quiet."
Two voices rang out. One's definitely a boy, the other, a girl? Squinting, I slowly looked up, internally cringing at my state right now. I probably looked like hell. Certainly felt like it.
In front of me stood two blurry shapes. Standing together, one began to crouch, long hair flicking. Yup. A girl. The other one must be the boy then. Humans......no, wait. My vision was still a bit hazy, but the overpowering smell of wolves hit me so hard, I nearly fell backward, mentally thanking the wall for being there.
How the hell do I know what wolves smell like anyway?
"Wh-where am I?"
I was practically croaking at this point. My throat was completely parched, my mouth dry and my voice hoarse. My head ached, still a bit heavy. My eyelids slightly drooped, still half-drugged. The pain had dulled by now, but was still there, coursing through my body.
The boy shifted closer to the girl, leaning down. Whispering something in her ear, something she didn't agree to, judging by the frown on her face.
"Don't say that Ethan. He's obviously new, and his scent shows he hasn't even reached his first shift yet. Weirdly."
She said the last bit under her breath, still smiling at me as she turned to the boy, Ethan. Scolding him. I watched as he took a step back, leaning on the wall. Scowling. Well, someone doesn't look too happy.
Looking at both of them carefully, I didn't want to lower my guard. Not after what happened.
"K-Kale. Kale! Help me! Please....h-help..."
Something stirred inside me, a cold shiver washing over me. Goosebumps rose on my skin as I felt something else in my mind. Something that definitely wasn't me.
Shaking my head quickly, the feeling dispensed. I tilted my head curiously. I swear the girl had just flinched. Probably just my imagination.
"Hi, I'm Lilith! And this is Ethan. Don't mind him, he's generally an ass to every stranger."
