"A studio?"
I followed Alicia into one of the trainee studios. I've never really been in one for awhile, the one time I did was when... well, let's not get into that.
Coming into the room, Alicia sat down near the studio equipment. Grabbing her flash drive from her pocket, she puts it into the computer and starts typing.
I followed behind her and sat right next to her. "What are you doing?"
She looked at me with those doe eyes of hers, "I'm working on a song."
"You're producing your own song?? Like right now???"
"Uh, yeah. Didn't you just look at my journal?"
"I mean I did but like isn't producing an entire song without professional help a bit-"
"Anyone can produce a song, with or without this so called 'professionalism'."
I looked at her in disbelief. Creating some melodies I slightly understand, but actually mixing and producing by yourself?!
"You're insane."
She looked at me confused. "What do you mean?"
"I mean... like, you're not worried of people judging? How about if it's not the standard-" I looked down, making fists with my hands. Making music isn't easy, pleasing everyone is so hard...
"Chris."
Looking up slowly, my eyes was met with a warm, reassuring smile. "People should just make what what they want to make."
Hearing this my heart warmed. I was taken aback. But before I can even respond, the girl turned back to mixing her song.
"And... *click click* done."
Alicia rolled away from the equipment. She turned to me with a confident smile, "wanna hear it?"
"... sure?"
She then turned towards the computer and pressed play.
The song was the same song she played on the guitar, but this time it has other beats and sounds to it. These sounds seems different yet familiar, new yet at the same time not.
"This, this is crazy good!" I looked at her in awe. "Where did you come up with this. It's so different, something I've never heard before!"
"Really? Well I just looked around my world and made it my own song." She then stopped the song and sighed. "Though it feels like it's missing something."
Alicia put her head down in frustration. Putting my hand on her back for comfort, I looked back at the mix. "Maybe if you... rearranged this."
The girl looked up at me as I tweaked the song a bit. After a few minutes, I pressed the play button and both of us began to listen. Turning towards her, Alicia's eyes sparkled brightly. "Chris, that's it!"
I avoided my eyes bashfully. "I-it's not that great, all I did was change the beat a bit and added a bit of piano to it."
Alicia grabbed my shoulders and shook me endlessly in excitement.
"Chris, you're a musical genius!" Alicia exclaimed as her bright smile sparkles in front of me. She spun me around on the swivel chair I sat on and turned away to think. After spinning a couple times (and getting a little dizzy in the process) I got myself to stop and noticed her staring at me with an intense gaze.
I started to get quite self-conscious. "Do I have something on my face or..." She shook her head and asked me something that I wasn't expecting at all.
"Let's be partners."
