Chapter 1~Bestfriend's Wedding💛

I tried to hate you but the only thing I hated is how much I loved you.

Ellie's Pov

Today is my bestfriend's wedding and I just can't express how happy I feel for her. She got her fairytale beginning and I know it was not easy for her. True love is never easy you always have to struggle to reach the destination.

I have always dreamt of fairtytale weddings and white picket fences but seems like fate has some other plan in store for me. After Glen I don't feel like giving life a second chance because my heart is still stuck to where it was three years ago.

I just can't think of myself and move on in life because it is always Cora who is my top priority and I think of her prior to myself. I am so emotional Amy will no longer be with me she will move to Dallas and she is asking me to move back too so that we can be close like always and even I am considering that suggestion so that I can get some help from her and I need all help for Cora's sake.

As I was thinking of all this my eyes landed on Glen. His hair is still the same blonde and his grey eyes are captivating like always. I looked away from him when his eyes met mine and Cora came running towards me.

She will be three years old this spring and my heart swells with happiness when I see her run and walk around making mess in the place and I don't know if I could have survived without her, she is the light of my life.

She got the grey eyes from her father and those cute looks too and I just hope that he doesn't recognise the familiarity between them because I am still not ready yet.

Amy told Rey about Cora and he promised that he won't reveal this to Glen and will keep this is a secret for sometime until I have gathered enough courage about it.

I was playing with Cora when I heard someone clearing throat behind me.
When I turned to look it was Glen and I just ignored him and kept playing with Cora.

"Is she yours"? he questioned me and my world just paused at that minute.

How do I tell him that she is ours and my brain is always conflicting about it when it comes to Cora.

"Yes she is mine, any issues?" I snapped at him.

"No I have no issues I just wanted to tell that she is just adorable cute little baby just like her mom" he complimented.

"Thank you" I kept the conversation short and cold because I am not ready to face him yet I am aware that he has treated me wrong and played with me many times but I am just guilty that I kept Cora a secret and no matter how bad he is her father and he deserves to know.

While I was in my own thoughts I saw Cora was smiling at Glen and he smiled back at her. She is not so open to strangers I wonder how she is smiling so warmly at him.

He leaned down and picked her up in his arms and I was teary eyed at the sight in front of my eyes the two most important people of my life.

"What's your name?" he questioned Cora while she was fiddling with her doll.

"Colalynn" she answered in a cute way.

She is still not so good at forming words and just starting to speak small words and I am overwhelmed to hear her say her name so precisely. Though we all address her as Cora she tried on her full name.

"Well thats a cute name baby doll" he replied just admiring at her.

"She is Coralynn and we call her Cora" I spoke to him.

"She is really beautiful" he complimented.

"Thank you we will have to go now its dinner time and Cora might definitely be hungry" I took her from his arms and could see that he was not that happy for our departure.

"It was nice meeting you Ell" he said.

"It was very unpleasant to me Glen. Enjoy the wedding dinner" I replied and walked off from him.

The entire evening I avoided him like a pest. I am not sure this due to the hatred I have towards him or just because of the affect he has on me. I never run away from anything and I always like to challenge all the things in my life but Glen Frank is more than a challenge to me and I just want to escape from him.

It was New Year's Eve and after the dinner I had to get back home alone as I have no plans because of my toddler but I have no regrets about that.

I could just be with Cora all day and all night and never get tired of her she is a bundle of joy and I can celebrate New Year with my daughter and Samara.

"Sam are you missing Amy?" I questioned her because of the gloomy look on her face. She will be staying with me for sometime until Amy comes back from honeymoon and they take her in.

"Yes I miss her but I am happy she got sometime away, she has always been there for me in the past years and filled in all the motherly duties towards me and I don't want her to sacrifice anymore" she said and I love this about her she is a very mature and a well mannered teenager.

"I know Sam that might be difficult for you but you know right I am your sister too and will always be there for you." I gave her some courage to overcome this feeling.

"Well who was that hot guy you were speaking to?" she questioned me.

"Oh he was just my friend from the university you know Glen right you met him a couple of times he is Rey's bestfriend and they are cousins too" I said.

"That was like a lot of information but were you just friends?" She asked skeptically.

"Kind of yes, like friends with benefits" I was being honest with her.

"But he seems to be like a serious kind of guy and looks at you like Rey looks at Amy" She said.

"uh yeah maybe he was just shocked after seeing Cora" I sluttered.

"Ell I think you should give him a chance and loosen up a bit. I know who he is I have heard you and Amy discussing about it a lot of times. I just wanted to check how you would react if someone questions you about him" she said and I was shocked to hear this.

"And I think that you have grown up too fast" I teased her.

"Yeah that was one awesome advise and I would like to see you act on it" She replied playfully.

"Will think about it madam" I teased her again.

We then wished each other a Happy New year and departed to our rooms as we were too tired with the wedding.
