Modern AU (college)
Word count: 2522You've been assigned a lab partner for chemistry, but he's grumpier than you had hoped for. Dealing with him is annoying, but you've found he's completely different after hours.
Upon entering into your chemistry lab the first day, there weren't many seats left. You kicked yourself for not showing up early as planned, but you didn't anticipate the walk across campus to take as long. Of the few seats available, you chose to sit next to a quiet and reserved white haired guy, or at least that's what he seemed like at first glance. Having Tobirama as a lab partner had been a pretty good turn of events for you. You could be a bit clumsy at times, so Tobirama's precision and steady hands helped save you both from spilled reagents...for the most part. You couldn't help it, and the few times it happened caused you to worry and panic about nothing. At least that's what Tobirama assured. You were sure he found it annoying seeing as he was very blunt about it, but then again, he was straight and to the point about everything. This is why with a couple of weeks left in the semester you didn't have any reservations exchanging phone numbers with him in order to complete the lab report assigned.
"Here is my number," Tobirama said as he handed you a folded piece of paper. "We can discuss splitting up the work later. Afterwards we'll combine our parts into one document to submit." You nodded in agreement seeing as his tone of voice didn't leave any room for suggestion. This is what he came up with and this is what would be done. It came as no surprise. The whole semester had been like that between the two of you. Tobirama would dictate how things would happen and what actions to take and you went along with it. Maybe if your grade was suffering you'd protest, but the man was practically a genius. You hadn't had an A in a chemistry class for a while so you went with it. After taking Tobirama's number and inputting it into your phone, you left to make your way to your next class. You didn't give it a second though throughout the rest of your day.
After your final class ended, you walked back to your dorm, thankful it was Friday. You had some work to catch up on, so you decided to stay in. Not like you were one to go out to parties much to begin with. You set your phone down and opened your laptop with a sigh, getting to work on an essay that would count as your final exam grade. The hours flew by as you typed away, not noticing how late it had gotten. You rubbed your weary eyes as you glanced at your phone and saw that it was nearly 3 AM.
"Shit," you whispered to yourself as you saved your document and closed your laptop. That was enough work, and now it was time to wind down for bed. You slid under the covers after your nightly routine was completed, bringing up your phone to entertain yourself until you dozed off. You almost ignored the notification from Snapchat and dismissed it as drunken rambling from friends but something caught your eye. This wasn't an incoming snap, this was a friend request. Intrigued, you brought up the app and looked into the pending friend request. Who the hell was named Senju? No one that you knew of for sure. You shrugged and accepted the friend request, not thinking much of it. If they were a nuisance, you could always just block them or something. Since you were already there, you decided to scroll through the stories your friends had posted, giggling at their shenanigans. Your eyes drifted to the top of your screen, taking notice this Senju person sent you a message. Curious, you decided to check it out.
Hey
You hummed to yourself, finding the message lacking to say the least. No introduction? Really?
Hey, who is this?
You replied reluctantly. Depending on their answer dictated whether you'd end up blocking them or not. It's not like you were one to befriend complete strangers and you always liked to be on the safe side with these things. Besides, you were far from home and needed to look out for yourself. It wasn't long before another response came in, bringing nothing but confusion.
