tw // harm, abuse, homophobic
he walked into the kitchen, feeling happy and excited because he got first place for the school math competition. it was probably the best day ever for him. being an only child rarely makes him smile and he always felt lonely wherever he goes.
the boy was just 15 when he received the award. and he was so proud to show it to his mother. the middle aged woman was cooking in their house kitchen.
"momma! i got first place for the competition!" the boy remarked and the mother turned her head to her child quickly.
"yong. you're horrible. why are you even my son?!" she shrieked and threw a pan to her son. she was homophobic. she doesn't like people who are fond of the same gender in a romantic way and never in her life she wants her own son to be like that.
the poor boy got a collision with the boiling hot pan and his shoulder. he got a burn. but that wasn't what hurt him. it was his mother's words. it went through his heart worse than a sword pierced through his stomach.
"lee taeyong. from this day on, you are not my son. get out!" she shouted once more and the boy can't cry. he was too hurt to cry. it was as if it was reflex, he ran out of the house. he ran and ran and ran. thankfully he stopped by a motel. it was a small but bright one. he entered inside and immediately booked a room. thankfully his father didn't forget to give him his pocket money. the owner was kind, he took care of the young teen well. he told him that he ran out of home and the owner comforted him. his name was yesung.
after arriving at the room, the 15 year old cried again and again. he cried nonstop that night. the next morning he visited the nakamoto's house since it was saturday. he didn't have the strength to eat, do his homework, or even jog or sprint. thankfully yuta was always there by his side when he needed him.
a few days passed by and he got the information and was told that his parents passed away. taeyong didn't know what to feel at all. should he be sad? happy? disappointed? mad? he didn't know. but what he did know is that no matter what his mother called him, see him as, or take him as, she was sti his mother. and his father who never stayed at home, he is still his father.
then he looked at the burn his mother caused. it was wrapped tightly with a bandage by mrs. nakamoto, yuta's mother. he regretted coming to the kitchen. he regretted winning first place. and he always will regret getting the scar that will stay with him forever.

he wasn't ready.
he's just not ready to tell jaehyun everything about his past. jaehyun himself told him that one day he will tell taeyong. but when is it? what time? what day? he doesn't know.
that night jaehyun invited taeyong to his best friend's birthday party. the party was crowded and it wasn't taeyong's style at all. he liked peaceful vibes. so then he went outside to sit at the bench nearby. he sigh. the night was slightly dark, but he could see the stars blinking slowly one by one.
"you okay?" jaehyun called out to him from the front door. taeyong smiled and nodded but jaehyun isn't fully persuaded by it and so he accompanied the older and sat by his side. yuta was also invited by the sophomore, but he didn't turn up because of private business, at least that's what the japanese said.
"yuta told me about your thing." the younger started once more. taeyong looked at him in confusion.
"my thing?"
"yeah. this." he pointed to his shoulder which had the scar. taeyong's eyes widened.
"now i understand why you're afraid of people knowing you're gay.""now that you know my secret, what about yours?" taeyong nudged the younger who chuckled after the collision. he sighed.
"my parents are homophobic too, the both of them. they said that being homo can ruin their reputation and everything. now i don't believe that, but i'm just not quite ready to tell them." jaehyun looked down and started playing with his hand. suddenly they both made an eye contact. it was as if the world slowed down around them and got more silenced. taeyong looked into jaehyun's dark brown orbs.
"jaehyun, can i take you somewhere?" the older said after they broke their eye contact. the younger nodded and took taeyong by his right hand, intertwining them. the older of course got flustered by it but didn't let it bother him that much.
now they were at the park, sitting on the bench with a quiet and peaceful surrounding. it was almost 8.
"jae, don't you have something to say to me?" taeyong said and looked at the younger who chuckled after his words.
"me? do i?"
"nevermind, i guess you don't." taeyong sighed and looked down.
"lee taeyong look at me." the deep voice made the older immediately look up to jaehyun. they stayed like that for awhile. then the younger stated.
"i like you."
