Miki's point of view
"I'm home!" I yelled as I removed my shoes and continued my way to the kitchen and reached for the hand of my mother and did the honoring gesture.
"How was school?" She asked as she cooked our dinner.
"Tiring as always" I got myself a cup and barged into the fridge to take the milk and poured it in the cup and drank it.
"Hey, exams are over right? You should take a rest now, you seriously need sleep" She looked at me with worried eyes, and continued "But eat dinner first okay?" She assured me and I smiled.
Sweet I finally have time to watch some newly released series--
"Don't even think about watching some series or I'm confiscating that phone of yours" she raised her brow at me.
Nevermind.
"Yeah yeah," I sighed as I climbed up the stairs that lead to my room. I put my bag on the desk chair and groaned as I stretched. I hummed a song that's been lately stuck in my mind for a while now. I grabbed my towel and went to the bathroom then stripped before going in for a half bath. After about 10 minutes, I got out and dried myself up with the towel, then wrapped it around my naked body.
"Let's see here, tomorrow is Saturday what the heck should I do tomorrow?" I mumbled as I grabbed a pair of clothes and began dressing up. Lost on my train of thoughts, I suddenly remembered what happened earlier.
"That girl" I stared at the floor for a long time.
I have never seen her before, she doesn't seem to be from here. I thought for a while until-
"HEY!" my bedroom door banged open making me jump only to reveal my 8 years old brother.
"Jesus Ren! You scared me!" I shouted out of shock still clutching my shirt in the chest as if trying to calm my heart.
"Dinner is ready! Let's go!" he grabbed me and pulled me out of my room and hurriedly dragged me to the dining room before I can even close the door.
"Oh good, you guys are here let's eat?" Mama said. Gesturing to the table as she pulled the chair and sat down. Ren and I followed soon and started eating, just the three of us talking random stuff about what happened on our day. Papa died a few years ago after an accident happened on one of his business trips. Some of his co-workers survived while the others didn't and unfortunately my father was one of them. So, after that my mama was the one providing us necessities to survive. Working very hard during the daytime while being a mother that assists her children at night.
"Hey ma," I said after I just swallowed a spoon full of curry.
"hmm?" she hummed in response.
"Do you happen to know a girl foreigner here?" I asked relating to the events that happened to me earlier.
"Foreigner? Girl? Hmm no not at all, why so sudden?" She asked looking at me.
"Uhm just curious," I said avoiding eye contact not wanting to engage in a conversation regarding what happened earlier.
"I wanna see a European styled building" I lied trying to change the subject
"Well there is this old manor near the field, you know the route that we use for shortcuts," she said finishing up her meal
"But it is abandoned for', she said as she put her hand on her chin thinking, "I think 80 years now?" she got up and went to the sink.
"No way that's like in the 1940's" I stated amazed about what my mom said.
"I know, but hey no exploring okay?" she said looking at me intensely.
"Fineeeee" I sighed.
"I'll clean the table and wash the dishes, go watch and play with Ren for me" Mama smiled and I just nodded.
"Ren let's go" I held Ren's hand and went to the living room.
