I woke up with Lilah wrapped in my arms, us laying on the couch. I peeked through the slightly opened curtains. I could see the rain drops on the window. I t must have rained. Lilah stirred In her sleep and slowly opened her eyes. "Morning," I whispered. "Morning,"She replied. She yawned, stretched her arms and turned around, still wrapped in my arms. "Night,"She said. I chuckled.

"C'mon Li Li, get up!" I said while shaking her. She groaned. "Do not call me that." I chuckled once more. "Okay, okay." It was silent for a moment. "My shin is killing me,"She said, half asleep. "Aww, poor baby,"I cooed in her ear. She slapped my arm.

I got up and walked towards the kitchen. This time, I grabbed a bag of frozen peas. I walked back to living room. "Here,"I said while placing the bag onto her bruise. She winced once again. "Sorry." She nodded.

"Let's just watch movies all day, shall we?" I asked. She nodded sadly. "What's wrong?" I asked. She looked down at her hands, playing with them mindlessly. "Oh, I just remembered some things." Then, I remembered; her Ex cheating on her, and her mom passing away recently. I hugged her and rubbed her back. "I'm sorry." She cried on my shoulder. I reached over to grab the bag full of the things I bought her yesterday. "Here... Just relax and forget." I suggested. She let go of me and took the bag. "You can also choose a movie on Netflix, if you'd like." She nodded and grabbed the remote, clicking on the telly.

She scrolled through the movies and shows. She chose The Notebook. "C'mon, choose something funny and cheerful." I suggested. She went back and instead, chose Let's Be Cops. The movie started to play. I opened my arms, motioning for her to lay in my arms. She came over and later her head on my chest. I stroked her hair soothingly, my arms tightening around her petite, fragile, warm body.

As the movie credits began to take over the screen, I lay, watching as Lilah nibbles on her piece of chocolate. "The boys and I need to go to the Staples center down the road to do a signing,"I awkwardly brought up. She looked at me and nodded, understanding the concept that I am still in the world famous manband, One Direction.

"Yeah...well I kno--" She was interrupted by the obnoxious sound of her Super Mario Bros. ringtone. "Hello?" She answered. Instantly, her face turned into a frantic, worried expression."Wait! How? What?!" She questioned. "O-okay... I will be there in a sec... B-bye." She looked over at me, her eyes watering. "Well, you remember Caroline? My sister?" I nodded, remembering the short brown haired girl. "Yeah." "Okay, well, m-my niece--" Her eyes fluttered close as she fell to the carpeted floor. I shot up like a spring.

"Lilah? Lilah?! Wake up! Are you okay?!" I asked as I lightly shook her. I got up and ran towards the kitchen. I got a wash rag and damped it with cold water. I ran back into the living room and set the cold cloth upon her forehead. "Lilah?! Can you hear me?!" I frantically asked. "Please!" I cried. Tears escaped my, now, burning eyes. Suddenly her eyes flickered open. "W-what happened--oh," She remembered. "Here," I said as I handed her my hand. She took it and I lifted her up.

"Oh uh, yeah, m-my neice... P-passed away this m-morning." "The five month year old?" It took her a moment to answer, her eyes brimmed with tears. "Y-yeah," Her voice cracked. I took her into a tight embrace. Her wet and salty tears fell onto my shoulder. I rubbed her back. "W-why is t-this happening t-to m-me?" She asked. "I don't know... Maybe it was just time for her to go." She nodded. "What do you say to seeing her at the hospital, love?" She backed up and looked at her phone. "Y-yeah... They are at t-that hospital that is o-on the corner of  their uh, b-lock."

I nodded. "Let's go." I said, putting my arm on the small of her back to lead her out. I locked the door behind me. I pressed a button on my car remote and all of the doors unlocked. I opened the passenger side door and waited until she jumped in. I closed the door behind her and walked to my side.

*~*~*~*~*

The car ride was quiet. Other than the soft sobs she was making. I tried to comfort her, but she just ignored me. We are at the hospital right now. Lilah and I are in the room that her niece is in. She looks at her, tears running down her face. Her sister and everyone else already left.

I walked up behind her and looked at the little, five month old, baby. Her lids are closed, her lips parted. Lilah got on her knees and cried into her hands. I kneeled down beside her and started to rub her back. "It will be okay... We will see her again, someday," I tried to comfort. She nodded. "I want to go..." She said, pushing me away and getting up.

"Okay," I said, following after her.

*~*~*~*

There it is was again.

Silence.

I sighed as she cried more. I continued to rub her thigh soothingly. I rolled her window down to give her some needed fresh air. As we pulled up into the large parking lot, people walked on by, ignoring our presence. I pulled into a parking spot. Lilah unbuckled her seat belt, immediately and got out the car, running towards the many apartment buildings, probably towards, now, our room.

I closed and locked the doors. I ran after her, knowing she wouldn't be able to get into the room without a spare key. I caught up to her as she reached the door of our room. I inserted the key into the hole and turned the knob. She pushed passed me and ran inside. "Lilah!" I walked after her. She had gone into my room. The door was left unlocked. I opened it and walked in. She lay on the bed, her face and most her tiny body buried in the covers.

"Why does God hate me?" She asked. "He doesn't hate you...who would? He probably is just trying to test you,see how strong you are..." I thought. She grumbled.
