Marinette had moved out of Paris soon after turning eighteen. She moved into the countryside, into a small cottage surrounded by wildflowers and forest. It worked well for her there, so far away from both alphas and betas. And in her cottage she didn't need to pretend to be something she wasn't.

She presented as an Omega. But the people of Paris wouldn't have trusted someone like her to protect them, so she had needed to suppress her own nature and play being Alpha. And she had gotten good at it, no one had ever thought let her sweet Omega civilian self could possibly be the powerful Alpha ladybug. But after the miraculous pack had defeated Hawkmoth and Mayura, many of them had been upset that the person who led them was not an Alpha, especially since many of them were. The idea that they had taken orders from an Omega felt like a slight to them.

That had been part of the reason that she had left the city. Everywhere she went people would talk about the Alpha ladybug, but that wasn't her, she wasn't an Alpha and the constant reminders tore at her.

So she spent many years living in this little cottage, and walking the flower fields and the forest By herself. Until one night she found the cub wondering around the area with a menagerie of animals with him. The sight of the young cub triggered her Omega instincts. He was much too young to be out alone so late and in the middle of nowhere. It didn't help that the cub looked slightly malnourished and possibly a little feral.

She'd offered to bring him home with her, give him somewhere safe and warm to spend the night, the boy had growled at her and had run off with his animals.
But Marinette was nothing if not stubborn. She went back the next night with food and the night after that, and the night after that, leaving a basket for the boy each night.

It took a few weeks, but one day when she was bringing the basket, the cub was there waiting. He looked at her with the distrusting gaze, asking her why she continued to give him food. Marinette shaking her head in response and went to sit under a nearby tree. " you are a cub" Marinette said with a sad smile "you should have a pack or family to take care of you. But you are here in this forest, and the only scents around here are are yours and mine."

The cub growled at her "I can take care of myself!"

Marinette shook her head "Maybe, but you shouldn't have to." she said with a sad smile. "my offer still stands, if you do need a place to stay you are more than welcome in my cottage."

The cub hesitated, this woman seems nothing like his Alpha mother, she smells like warmth and sugar and she's been nothing but kind to him so far. Even bringing treats for his pets. Perhaps, he could give this woman a chance? After all, he could leave at any point, it's not like an Omega could stop him.

The cottage was almost claustrophobic compared to the League. But it was warm and cosy and filled with the omega's scent. So he supposed it wasn't so bad after all.

Marinette had introduced herself to the cub, finding out in turn that his name was Damian. She tried to make his stay as comfortable as possible, and when she found out the boy liked to draw, they'd often spend a good portion of the day doing that before going for a walk and tending to the boy's pets. She's also done her best to alter what she would cook after finding out that the cub didn't eat meat. That was a rather large surprise, especially since most of the alphas she knew we're border line carnivorous. But considering the cub had apparently collected his pets during his journey from who knows where, and one of them was a cow, it was understandable for him to have chosen such a lifestyle.

And everything went well for quite awhile, at least until her heat began. She warned the cub on what to expect, her heats were always intense especially since she never mated during one and had spent years repressing her nature. So she had needed to lock herself away for its duration.
