___ had not been able to sleep that night. The feeling of Geto's kiss lingers on her lips, feverish and desperate, unlike the tender soft kisses she shared with Gojo. Each and every time she recalls the kiss with Geto, her chest squeezes in pain and she hugs Nishikawa closer into her arms for comfort, the boy's soft snores reaching her ears.
Gaining feelings for someone had never crossed her mind until she had grown closer to the two boys. They had managed to wiggle themselves into her heart. She wasn't sure when it happened, but the way they cared and protected her, she wasn't very surprised that she eventually felt some sort of attraction towards them.
Of course, she didn't expect it to unfold this way.
It left her confused and unable to determine her feelings properly.
Shifting her eyes to the ceiling, she thought that maybe it was also not the right time for this. Had it been later on in the year, when their minds were clearer, when their hearts had healed a little more, they could've sorted out their feelings sensibly.
These kisses were nothing but acts of desperation to heal their shattered hearts, to rid of the dark void of guilt and sorrow that swallowed their entire being. These kisses were nothing more but to make themselves feel better. These kisses were meant to make themselves drunk over lust and heated passion, to distract themselves from the cynical memories.
Yes, nothing more but nothing less.
The three of them were just desperate — that's all there is to it.
Nothing more, nothing less.
So then why? Why was her heart beating out of her chest when Geto taught her piano that night?
Why did she feel butterflies in her stomach whenever Gojo brought her to her favourite pastry shop?
Her thoughts trailed back to the two months of her isolation. Gojo and Geto had visited her quite often to fill the lonely nights with idle chatter.
That was enough to tell her that the two boys had cared for her deeply, but she didn't understand.
She had killed the hundred or so people in that lobby without a care in the world. That day, her emotions had overwhelmed her to the point where she just became utterly numb to the thoughts of others. At that moment, the only thing that mattered was her hunger for justice and revenge.
