My new life at an all girls school

Chapter 8

As we left the theater I noticed that Adalyn was still holding my hand but didn't say anything. As we entered the cafe she let go of my hand sat down and ordered a coffee while I ordered a Sunday. Call me childish but I actually love icecream.

As I took a large bite Adalyn spoke.

"Ava. I like you, a lot. I have been thinking long and hard on how to tell you my feelings for you and like you told me before, it's best if you tell them straight right? Anyway I- I love you as more then a friend. I think my feelings formed when I first saw you smiling in your sleep the second night at my school."

I was surprised. Adalyn was beautiful, she could have anybody she wanted but she wanted me? Either way I'm forced to be with Nyla. The feelings that overcame me during our movie surprised me but that just showed that I liked Adalyn to.

"I- I'm sorry. I'm actually with someone-"

"That someone is Nyla right? I already know. In fact I told her that I wanted her to break up with you because I liked you. She told me she wasn't going to but also wasn't opposed to us dating since your technically not her girlfriend yet."

I see. So Nyla said that? However I couldn't help but replay Nyla's words in the girls bathroom this morning.

"I know it's a lot to take in and I won't pressure you into dating me but please think about it?"

"I- I want to date you Adalyn. When I'm near you, you make me feel a lot of things I haven't felt before but dating two people at the same time... that's like cheating isn't it? It's wrong."

"It's not wrong if the other person agrees to it which she did! Listen Ava, I don't think I can hold back anymore. There have been times where I wanted to kiss and comfort you but I won't do that unless we are dating."

Comfort. I can't receive that from Nyla.

"A-As long as Nyla agreed to it then I don't see why we can't date. But won't things be complicated if the people in our school find out about me dating both you and Nyla?"

"Yes. And that is why neither of us are going to tell anyone of our relationship. But tell me Ava, do you really like Nyla?"

I couldn't look Adalyn in the eyes as I struggled to speak.

"I- It's complicated. I- I don't like her."

"Then why date her? If you would just reject her then none of this would have to be so complicated."

"It's not that easy."

"What do you mean?"

I was beginning to feel frustrated. That is until my phone buzzed making me check it only to see a message from Nyla.

Nyla
Where are you? It's almost 10:00

I grew pale as I sighed heavily.

"It's Nyla. She wants me to visit her in her dorm tonight."

"Why?"

"I don't know. Nyla can be a spontaneous person."

"Alright then. I guess I'll drive us back to the school."

It was quiet on the car ride back. I wanted to tell Adalyn everything that Nyla has done but I'm afraid....

"Hey Ava?"

"Hmm?" Looking over Adalyn suddenly moved towards me and kissed me.

My heart begin to pound as I felt one hand on my hip while her other hand was on the back of my neck. Her kiss wasn't forceful like Nyla's was. It was soft gentle and, it tasted sweet.
