Weeks passed with Dylan and I constantly having rows about the stupidest things. He would throw a dodgeball at me now and then out of nowhere. Every time he would throw it harder than before. My comments became meaner as time passed. I went from "Leave me alone!" To "You're so ugly leave." Dylan became the one person I loathed. Kat insisted that he kept picking on me because he liked me. But I didn't think it was that. However, everyone seemed to agree with Kat.
Later I found out she just said that to annoy me but it was actually true. Dylan had never really been out of curious phase, he still wanted to know more about me. One thing I remember is when were in a circle playing duck duck goose. There was this kid who was patting everyone's head according to their race. He taped the white kids as white rice, Kat as Chinese rice and me as Mexican rice. The second Dylan heard him tap me Mexican rice, he went, "You're Mexican?!" Really eagerly.
"No! I'm not Mexican!!!" I said for the billionth time in my life. Dylan seemed disappointed. It was really weird.
The possible interest Dylan might have had in me never stopped him from being a nuisance. He seemed to not be able to remember my name. My name was Caroline and he called me Coraline. And every time he did that I knew he saw the annoyance on my face. But he didn't care. He never cared.
