Epiphany (Mirio x Izuku)

wasn't it supposed to be a date?

(At the dorms)

"Happy Birthday Izuku!" Inko, Izuku's mom wished gleefully.
"Thanks mom" Izuku put on the buttons on his uniform as he answered the phone.
"Izuku?" Inko began.
"Yeah mom" he responded.
"Why don't you come home for today? We can have a small celebration of our own."
"Yeah... Mom..." Izuku left his words hanging as he recalled of the date with Mirio for the day.
What was he supposed to tell his mother?
He had no idea.
"Mom... I..."
"Oh, don't worry Izuku. You can invite your friends over if you want to."
Izuku couldn't say no. He could say that Mirio was his friend and invite him over but he'd have to invite everybody else too. That would not let him spend time with Mirio. Yet he couldn't refuse that cheerfull tone of his mother.
"Ok mom. I'll be there with everyone in the evening" So saying he swung his backpack on a shoulder, leaving the room with messy emotions.

(At U.A high)

"Happy birthday Midoriya!" Izuku's classmates echoed in unison.
Izuku had just enter the classroom 1-A when everyone had suddenly wished him.
He wore the sweetest smile he could muster as he answered, "Thanks everyone"
Though he hadn't realized it at first he managed to identify students from other classes as well. All of them had gathered to wish Izuku.
Suddenly, he laid eyes on that someone who made his heart flutter.
Mirio stood amongst the big three, beaming with a smile.
Izuku laid his eyes low with a smile of warmth on him.
The two were eagerly awaiting for the school to end for the day.

(After school ended)

Mirio was walking to his home along with Neijire and Tamaki when they suddenly heard footsteps behind them.
"Senpai!" the familiar voice called out.
"Izu?" Mirio thought as he spun around to see the little green haired lad run to him.
"Ooohhh.... Mirio, your love is here" Neijire added with a smirk.
"Go ahead without me.." so saying, Mirio walked back, getting closer to Izuku.
"He is totally in love with him" Tamaki wore a bashful smile as he glimpsed Mirio wear a sudden rare smile that was supposedly exclusive to Izuku.
"That's true." Added Neijire as the two walked away.

"Izu?" Mirio smiled wholeheartedly.
"Senpai.. I.. ummm" Izuku slowed down as he stood ahead of Mirio, only inches away.
"Yes?"
"Senpai, I have a problem with our plan today."
"Oh! What's that?"
"Umm... Well.. my mom asked me to invite my friends over for a celebration at home......... so...umm.. you know.."
"I understand Izu" so saying, he stepped closer to Izuku.
They were now only few centimeters away from one another.
"But senpai, umm you can join us. I mean if you don't mind.... You can bring Neijire senpai and Amajiki senpai as well" Izuku added with a heavy breath held in him.
Their lips were too close. Izuku was too concious of it. He couldn't keep his head straight. He was figetting.
Mirio on the other hand knew what was going through Izuku's head. He gave a sudden smile as he realized what Izuku was concious of.

He suddenly leaned in to test Izuku.

Izuku shut his eyes tight as he trembled slightly.

Mirio leaned in closer, so close that their lips touched in a light graze.

"Senpai!" Izuku jumped back suddenly. Mirio wore a look of amusement on him.
"Stop playing around. I'm trying to be serious here!" Added Izuku with his heart beating in a deafning rhythm.
"Izu, don't be so upset. I'm sorry..." Mirio added apologetically, taking Izuku's hand in his.
"I'm sorry too for shouting suddenly"
"No its my fault.... Anyways, I'll be there with my friends" Mirio added as he drew imaginary circles on Izuku's hand using his thumb.
Izuku was surprised at the sudden answer.
"Are you... Really alright with that?" He asked concerned.
"Hey, I get to spend time with my love on his birthday and apart from that, I get to know his friends and his family. I should be the blessed one here" Mirio pulled Izuku's hand that he held on to, such that they shared an embrace. Mirio found his other hand around Izuku's waist.
"Senpai...." Izuku muttered under his breath.
Mirio kissed the back of Izuku's palm as he said,
"I love you. You know that. You can share anything with me. No matter how big or small it is. All that matters is, you being here with me. You get what I mean yeah?" Mirio added in one breath.
Izuku was blushing hard. He was feeling so happy that he shared a bond with Mirio as close as this. He loved him. He wanted to say it. Yet the words never came out of him.
"I understand senpai.."
After a passionate embrace again, Mirio walked away as Izuku glimpsed his silhouette disappear by the end of the street.
