Mori getting a pet for his partner

So, I know canonically Mori hates dogs/ cats, but I totally see him being weak with his partner and agreeing to get one. He would start off by being like, "it's your animal you take care of it", then he would move to the " I guess I can feed it" stage, then he would complete his transformation by his partner finding him napping with the animal laying on his chest.

If he had a cat:

You guys are getting a shelter cat.
The doesn't really mind the breed, he just wants one that won't try and kill the two of you.
He might go for the most 'battle-hardened' cat, you know the one it most likely has scars from fights with other animals, it is missing a part of it's ear.
I feel like he could identify with this cat, they both are covered in scars from fights.
When you guys take the cat home he will try his best not to growl at it.
This will eventually lead to the cat loving Mori more than it does you.
The cat would constantly be laying with him, might wrap it's self around his shoulders or sit in his hair.

If he had a dog:

Basically the same as the cat for adopting.
He would want the sweetest dumb dog (just like him a sweet yet dumb thing)
He wants a #himbodog
I feel like he would gel better with a big dog, maybe a golden retriever.
By the end, the dog would end up sitting in his lap
He would let the dog lay on him while they take a nap.

I feel like Mori would get jealous if you spend to much time loving the animal.

Mori is a golden retriever in human skin.
