Kawaki POV
Those brats are smarter than I thought. I don't think they even suspected that I could've been one who's after them. I would like to think that Sarada believed my little lie but even when she did know that it was just me, her Sharingan was still activated. Plus, she is a Uchiha. They tend to be smarter and more skilled. Boruto might be easier to fool but her? That should be a challenge.

Narrator POV
Little did Kawaki know, Boruto is just as skilled as Sarada. Maybe even more so. She may have the brain but Boruto is a better fighter. And he is onto Kawaki.

Kawaki was following them. They won't be able to see him since he is now above the trees but he's there. Following from behind and above.

Kawaki POV
I'm going to try to make my move tonight once they fall asleep. As long has I don't lose them, I'll be good to go.

I just wanted to do a little recap into Kawaki's thoughts but now I'm going to start from where we left off.

After about an hour or two, they both felt something. Sort of like the chills but it didn't just run down your spine. You could feel it anywhere inside and outside of your body. They both quickly glanced at each other and Sarada said, "I sense someone else's chakra."

They made sure to maintain a low voice level because if someone else was with them, they wanted to make sure that the other person was unable to hear them.

Boruto and Sarada stopped for a second to look around to see if they would see anyone following them. They looked below them, to their right, to their left, behind them, and in front of them. There was no sign of another person. Until they looked up. Kawaki was going from tree to tree and they realized that he had been following them this entire time.

That is when both Sarada and Boruto let out a quiet gasp and just stared at him, trying to figure out why he was following them and what his next move was going to be. Although they had stopped moving, Kawaki was still on the move, unaware that they had stopped.

"Why would he follow us?" Sarada asked Boruto, looking at him in confusion. He scratched his head with his finger and said, "Well I mean, let's be honest. Kawaki has never been a big fan of me and he always stays to himself. He never talks to anyone, especially me. And when we does speak to me, his voice is very low and he sounds uninterested."

"Do you think that he was the one who left the apple out?" Boruto's eyes widened at the thought of Kawaki actually trying to kill him. "M- Maybe..." Boruto stuttered. "We have to hide then. We still have time since he doesn't yet realize that we've stopped." Boruto stares at Sarada, acknowledging how serious the situation is and grabs her by the hand, jumping down from the tree.

"Where are you taking me?" Sarada asked in a normal talking voice since the chances of Kawaki hearing them are more unlikely. "I don't know yet. But we have to go somewhere. Anywhere that he's not." Sarada nods and says, "You're right. We obviously can't go ahead because that's the direction that he's in. We can't go behind because that's where he will think to go first as an effort to look for us. So pick whether you want to go left of right."

Boruto stared at the ground while he was in his thoughts. "If I remember correctly, my dad says that there is a big lake up ahead. It's a bit more of the right side and Kawaki should be approaching it in an hour or so, depending on his speed and how long it takes him to realize that he's lost us."

Sarada raised an eyebrow at him. "So?" She asks. "So, therefore we should go left." Sarada chuckles. Boruto stares blankly at her and asks, "What?" She smirks at him and says, "Who knew you could be so smart and think so logically, Uzumaki." Boruto huffs and just rolls his eyes at her while she laughs.

They head west and slow down their pace. They had no reason to run any longer since Kawaki had a better chance of being able to find them by sensing their chakra. And besides, it's only 3pm. They still had 5 more hours of sunlight until they had to start finding a place to settle for the night.

They had no more interruptions from other people outside of the village, which is good news. That also means that they lost Kawaki and are safe once again.

Hello!! Quick announcement. Next chapter will be Kawaki's thoughts so it might be shorter than the usual length of the chapters. I also apologize if this chapter is a bit short.
