Wings for soaring

Sunday lights in the morning

One upon a time,in a valley full of nature and animals,specifically housing butterflies,bees,and ladybugs. The sun was very bright in the morning. A very beautiful ladybug named Elena took a break under the bright and majestic sun.She absolutely LOVED to fly on the garden to collect nectar.Elena invited her best friend,Sonia,who was a caterpillar to share the sweet and delicious nectar.

One day,Elena noted the melancholy from Sonia. Elena then proceeded to ask,

"Why are you so depressed,Sonia?"

Sonia responded,

"My dear friend,I would like to know how to fly,but I don't have my wings."

"Yet."

Both of them were silent for a moment.

Then the eyes of Elena lit up.She had a fantastic idea on her mind and exclaimed,

"Sonia! Why don't we fabricate a pair of wings for you?"

Sonia smiled and accepted the idea.Then the latter went to Mister Tree.They asked for two leaves he didn't need.The tree gave them the 2 leaves they asked for.

They went to Elena's house to start fabricating the wings.Elena put the fabricated wings ,made of of leaves,on Sonia's back.Sonia then tried to fly,but the wings were heavy and she couldn't  bear the weight.

Elena then tried to find to find a material that was lighter.Then,they went to Ms.Sunflower.She gave them two petals lovingly.Elena glued the petals together and put them on the back of Sonia.Sonia flew perfectly the first time. Unfortunately, the wind caused her to crashed 2 times and lose a tooth.

Even after many failures,the friends did not give up.This time,they went to the library and asked the librarian, Sr.Hoot,if he could donate two pieces of paper.He agreed to give them 2 pieces of paper.

Like usual,Elena put the fabricated wings,made out of new paper,on Sonia.The air was not windy and Sonia could fly for some moments.Sonia was happy.Though,the grey monochrome clouds started emerging from the sky and the rain started to destroy the paper wings.

Sonia was devastated.Sonia gave up while crying she saw many of butterflies bully her.She ran to isolate herself inside of a old pine tree.Elena tried to find her friend,but Sonia was nowhere to be found. 

Elena started to cry and sat over the roots of the old pine.Sonia heard the crying of her friend and decided to leave her place.Sonia walked over where Elena was and put her hand on the shoulder of Elena.She told her with a very soft voice,

"Please,stop crying my dear friend.Thank you for trying your best to make me happy.You worked very hard for those wings to be on me.But I found out that your friendship and company is more important and it doesn't matter that I don't fly."

Even though Sonia tried to stop her friends crying,Elena continued to cry.Elena felt like she didn't do enough to make her friend happy.Sonia then proceeded to tickle Elena.Elena then turned around and saw the beautiful wings Sonia has.She was amazed and her eyes lit up.Elena saw Sonia's wings and noted that Sonia was so worried about Elena that she didn't notice her wings.Elena then took Sonia and traveled to the lake so she can see her reflection.Sonia saw her reflection and she didn't know what her eyes were seeing.Both took each others hands and started to be happy and energized.

After leaving the lake,they started to fly over the garden's meadow flying with glee and joy.

In the end,

Sonia was now a beautiful butterfly with mint green wings.The rest of the butterflies started respecting her.Some were jealous and some were not.

Elena picked up pieces from the failed project and made beautiful,majestic,harmonious artwork.She is now a artist in training.

The best friends soar every morning over the beautiful and bright sunflowers.

Will there be more adventures? Who knows.
