In the car I rode shotgun, Eli was in the back, and Liam was driving. For these guys being good friends there sure was some awkward silence tension going on.
I grabbed the aux cord, grabbed my phone and pressed shuffle. I feel a pair of eyes on me so I look up only to find Liam... staring?... well that's uncomfortable.
"What are you staring at?" i said a bit harshly.
"The fact you put on your music without asking me considering that this is hmm i dont know.. my car?!"
"Liam calm the fuck down it was way too quiet in here anyways" i said
"Oh my god... I LOVE THIS SONG TURN IT UP" I look up at Elijah only to find his head bobbing up and down to the song... Sweater Weather.. of course.
Im not one to sing in front of people but Eli makes me feel... comfortable? safe?... I feel like i found my first official friend.
After a bit of songs play I realize we are pulling into a burger joint... honestly im starving and im ready to eat.. now... RIGHT NOW.
Food is my child.
I consider myself a little potato with how much i eat
But you know what... screw it, lets everyone be potatoes.
Once we walk in I see everyone else already seated waiting for us.
"Yall took forever" Lana said... oh... i can see hunger in her eyes. My people hehe
After ordering, we're all sitting down, talking about our pasts and what we like to do and everything was going fine.. til it came to me.
"So what about you Adalyn?" asked Landon
"Well my parents were killed when i was 12, right in front of me and my brother actually" I had no clue why i was telling them all of this. I haven't talked about my parents in a while so this caught me a bit by surprise.
I continued "It was a robbery, we weren't so rich it was just the exterior and amenities of the house I guess.. they broke into my window, held a knife to my throat and basically used me as bait to try and get money from my parents. My dad tried to call the police but when he did a bullet went right through his skull, as for my mother.. they pretty much tortured her to death, with her children watching."
I finally look up to see their semi shocked expressions, Ember has tears in her eyes, Lana's mouth is open, Landon gives me a look of sorrow, Eli looks at me like im damaged goods, and Liam just stares.. expressionless.
"Guys, its fine it happened a while ago" I say trying to bring up the mood but no one budges.
"Seriously guys can you stop looking at me like at, yes it happened but I dealt with it already" they all just nod as we continue eating.
After we finish eating we head to the mall, yes shopping, how i love it so dearly.
Did ya sense the sarcasm?!
"Okay! So first we will be going into Victorias Secret" says Ember in a perky voice. The guys groan while im just thinking why the hell we're going there in the first place.
Lana goes straight to the PINK side too look for sweats. My eye catches on some under garments when i feel someone behind me.
"OMG, please tell me you're getting those, you know what i'll get some too!" Says Ember
"Holy fuck Ember you cant go sneaking up on people like that" I sigh as she's apologizes
I think i will get these, they're so blingy and HOLY SHIT.. $25 for a single piece of underwear.. yeah I think i'll pass.
I go over to PINK with Lana to look for some workout leggings, when i notice the guys are completely gone, weird. I find about three pairs of legging and check out. Lana and Ember follow behind as I take out my phone to text Landon.
Adalyn:
Hey! Where are you guys?
Landon:
Hi, we're stuck in hollister while Elijah is checking out, yall ready to go?
Ember said thats all she needed and agreed to leave.. finally. The ride home was silent, only awkward when Eli decided to go to sleep, thanks a lot for leaving me with him Eli.
"They weren't really robbers were they?" Liam says sternly
Shit, was I too obvious i mean i know im awkward and whatever but how could he read me already?
"What are you talking about" I say
"The men who killed your parents, it wasnt a robbery or an accident.. now was it?"
What the hell was he talking about.
