The small child awoke with fear; the nightmare had woke her up once again. Her eyes darted around the room before she slid out from the safety of the covers in her bed. Her feet hit the soft carpet and she walked towards the door, reaching up on her tiptoes to reach the door knob, turning it slowly to open the door. She walked quickly down the darkened hallway to the room where her mother slept. The door was open so the child walked in, going over to the bed where her mother lay, asleep.
The young girl climbed onto the bed and over to the warm body of her mother. "Mommy..." she whined in a whisper, shaking the sleeping figure gently. When she didn't awake, the little girl shook her harder, crying her name louder. Eventually, the young lady sat up with a yawn. "What is it, sweetheart?" She asked, pulling her daughter into her lap. The child hugged her mother tightly, burying her face into her chest, soft and quiet sobs came from her mouth. Her mom shushed her, stroking her hair and laying her lips on her forehead. "It's okay, tell Mommy what's the matter."
The child's cries stopped, and she lifted her head. "I-I had the dream again."
"The one about Daddy?" The little girl nodded her head yes. Her mother pulled her closer, cradling her.

The boys were about halfway into their eighteen song set. She stood backstage with the other girlfriends, along with her and his three year old daughter. She was running around the room, dancing to the music that her father and his friends sung. The women were chatting among themselves, glancing up at the screen that showed the Madison Square Garden stage. She smiled, very proud of her boyfriend and the others.
Her daughter ran up to her and tugged at the hem of her shirt, causing her to glance down. "Mommy, come dance with me!" She giggled. Soon everyone was dancing around the room, laughing and singing,. But it didn't last long. They were all dancing in circles, belting out into the hairbrushes that laid on the table.
"That's what makes you beautiful!" They all sang in sync. The intro to the next verse played, and the girls took deep breaths so they would be on key when they continued the song. But there was a bang. Just one, that was all it took. He fell to the ground, causing the other four to stop what they were doing, drop everything, and rush over to where he fell. The fans in the crowd went berserk, screaming. And these weren't fangirling screams, screaming their names, they were screams of fear, confusion, and utter terror.
She gathered up her child in her arms, who was asking, "What's going on?" She didn't see who exactly was the one that fell. She watched as others ran onstage to take a look. The sirens of the ambulances outside could be heard from where she stood backstage. People were being evacuated, but she wouldn't budge, she was frozen in place. EMT's and police ran inside and zoomed past her, going to the stage.
One EMT came up to her, asking in a calm voice if he could hold her child while she went to see what had happened. She shook her head, holding onto the young girl tightly. She began to take small steps to the stage. Voices talked over each other, most in panic, Her little girl looked around with wide eyes. She didn't know exactly what was going on because she was so young. She walked out to the group gathered around whoever had been hurt. She couldn't see faces, but she heard crying. Another one of the EMT's, along with a police officer stood up and started walking over towards her.
"Miss, we're sorry, bur he is no longer with us." She didn't know exactly who 'he' was, why wouldn't they tell her? She pushed past them, to where the four boys and four girls stood. They were all wrapped up in each other, the boys hugging and kissing their own girlfriends, trying not to cry themselves. When she saw all four couples together, she knew, no one had to tell her. She wanted to break down right there, fall to her knees and cry for the rest of eternity. But she took a few more steps, and soon his body came into view. Her boyfriend. Her child's father.
She stared down at the pale, lifeless body. His eyes were still open and you could see the fear that they held. There was a hole in his chest which held a bullet lodged in his flesh, puncturing his heart. Blood stained his shirt and there was a small pool of blood surrounding his torso and head. The little girl still in her arms stared at it too. She squirmed out of her mother's grasp, dropping down to her feet.
She ran to the body on the ground, no one even stopped her. "Daddy?" She called out, running to his side. "Daddy!" She knelt down in the liquid beside his body and shook him as violently as a toddler could. "Daddy, wake up!" She cried out. Tears filled her eyes as she continued shaking with no result. Soon she was swept off of her feet by her now sobbing mother.
They cried together as they were led out of Madison Square Garden arena to the outside parking lot where tons of police cars and ambulances were parked, and his four band mates all huddled together, mourning. They noticed the two walk out and ran over to them, hugging them tightly, whispering, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, everything's going to be alright," over and over again.

Their child had had these reoccurring nightmares for two years after the tragedy. Now she was five, and the vision of her father's dead body still haunted her. Besides nightmares, everything was going okay, except for the fast that she'd grow up without a father and the band had fell apart soon after it had happened. The night was spent with mother and daughter cuddled together, reliving the horrible memories in their dreams.
