"I see you've returned!" The feminine voice from earlier says giddily. Again I'm in pitch black, and the only thing I can see is the silhouette of the woman, her face covered by a shadow once again.
"Wh-who are you? What do you want from me?" I stutter while standing my ground, which I didn't even know was there.
"That is something you need to find out on your own. But, there is something important I must ask of you." She says while pacing back and forth. "That locket, it's much more valuable than you may think. It's, as for what I can say at the moment, precious. You need to keep it with you, and you'll be safe"
"What do you mean by that!" How is a locket going to keep me safe from something? The most damage it could do is poking it in someone's eye or something. She lets out an audible sigh as she continues to pace around in the darkness.
"You need to understand, I can't tell you right now. I may be able to when you learn more about yourself, but as of now--"
"And? It could help me, you know? And who are you, anyways?" I inquire as I attempt to look at her face, but fail as the shadow cloaking her face kept me from doing so. Her frame tenses up, as if knowing that I'm not going to stop until I get the answers I'm looking for
"Blood is the key!" She says nervously while her body began slowly away into the darkness. No, she is NOT leaving just yet!
"Wait, no! I have so many questions!" I yell while trying to run towards her, but I seem to be glued to where I'm standing as she continued to fade away.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"Damn it!" I yell angrily while slamming down on the snooze button on my alarm clock. As I tried to go back to sleep, I then realized that today was an important day
I had to find a job.
The horrible time of actually having to work has come. My rent's coming near and the money I had gotten from my college funds are nearly out. And there's no way I would ask any one for money, especially from father. While growing up, you could say that I didn't really have the best relationship with him at all.
Come on, Edgar! Stop reminiscing and get ready, alright?
"Oh god, I'm talking to myself!" I yell while jumping out of bed and getting a navy blue dress shirt and khakis. I know I'm probably going to end up with a job at a fast-food restaurant, but I want to look nice if I do get a chance at a higher-rank job, I guess
As I'm about to run out of the door, I remember about the locket. Even though I'm probably just imagining things, I guess I'll wear it for now. It's not like a locket can protect someone from anything!
I slip it on, and I felt no different at all. I guess I am just imagining things, but I need to hurry up and leave! I run out of the door finally, and begin playing around with the locket while walking.
From what I can see, it's clearly made out of real gold, and the ruby on the front of it is also real, too. Don't ask how I know this, but you get unnecessary information from random people at college. Then I start to look at the back of the locket, which had the weird writing on it. I'll find out, but the whole 'getting a job before I become homeless' is top priority.
