Harry and Draco dreaded getting out of bed.
Today was the day they were going back to Hogwarts.
Harry was packing up the last of things, when Draco called out.
"Hey, Potter!" Draco was holding Harry's notebook, and it was open. "When did you draw this?"
It was a sketch of Draco smiling. It was fairly detailed, and quite good if Harry asked himself.
Draco rarely smiled, so whenever he did, Harry would imprint the sight into his mind. He decided to draw it, and certainly didn't intend on Draco seeing it.
Harry felt a blush color his cheeks. "I've been working on it the past few days." He mumbled.
Draco looked at it, and smiled widely. "It's really good. May I keep this?"
Harry nodded, his face reddening further from the compliment.
When they were both done packing, they sat on Harry's bed against his headboard, talking about the trip and their favorite parts as they waited for the time they needed to board the train.
"Remember when we went to the tree house? That felt like so long ago!" Draco exclaimed. "You almost fell on the way down!"
Harry rolled his eyes. "Shut up."
Draco laughed and rested his head on Harry's shoulder. Harry wrapped his arm around Draco's figure gently.
"We need to leave in like 3 minutes." Harry announced.
"Don't remind me." Draco grumbled. He sat up, looking into Harry's eyes sadly.
"Can I kiss you again?" Harry whispered.
With no hesitation, Draco leaned in and connected his lips with Harry's. It was soft and careful, neither of them wanting to overstep any boundaries.
Harry brought his hand up to rest on Draco's cheek. He pulled away, resting his forehead on Draco's. "I'm going to miss it here."
"Maybe we can come back one night, just the two of us." Draco offered, pulling back and standing up off of Harry's bed.
"That would be fun." Harry smiled, standing up after Draco. "Time to go, isn't it?"
Draco nodded. "I had a really good time, Potter. I'm glad we got partnered together."
Harry smiled. "Me too."

Harry, Draco, Ron, Hermione, Pansy and Blaise all stepped off of the train together. They looked up at Hogwarts, a familiar feeling of comfort and warmth spreading through them immediately.
"I missed it here." Ron sighed happily.
Their trunks were being taken in, so now they needed to go to the Great Hall for the first feast back.
"Let's go then, shall we?" Hermione said, walking towards the entrance with the rest of them following behind.
They sat in the Great Hall at the eighth year table, chatting happily over the feast. Harry and Draco sat next to each other, having their own conversation aside from everyone else.
"Can I take you back to your common room after dinner?" Draco asked. Harry nodded with a small smile.
"So, Harry and Draco," Pansy spoke up. "Are you two best friends now, or what?"
Draco chuckled nervously. Harry froze, thoughts running through his head as if they were playing on a broken record.
Friends? Best friends? Boyfriends? Best friends don't kiss, do they?
He looked up at Pansy, laughing faintly. "Something like that."
~
Harry and Draco were outside of the Gryffindor painting, stalling the moment they had to leave each other.
"It's gonna be weird not sleeping in the same room as you tonight." Draco said sadly.
Harry nodded, stepping forward to wrap his arms around Draco's neck. Draco slid his arms around Harry's back, digging his face into Harry's jacket.
"Goodnight, Draco." Harry released his strong grip around Draco.
Draco kissed Harry's cheek as he leaned away. "Goodnight, Potter."
