"Mew?" Gulf's voice disrupted Mew's concentration with memory lane.

"Ah? Oh, hi. Wait, ten minutes have passed already?" Mew looked at his watch and was surprised, thirty minutes had passed.

"Oh, gosh, we are so late. Come, you must eat before we go. No excuses, please eat. I will call the hospital to push the appointment for another hour." Mew grabbed his phone, not before offering Gulf the now cold food.

Gulf looked at it and his appetite was nowhere to be found.

Still, he grabbed a new piece of bread and forced himself to eat the fruits with the bread.

Mew turned around, "okay we have 2 hours to get there. You know I don't like to be rushed."

Mew rushed to the bedroom and got his and Gulf things ready. Making sure Gulf's emergency bag was ready.

Living on the edge of waiting for a simple phone call was sometimes a draining situation. Nevertheless, he was willing to help Gulf, the way Gulf helped him years ago.

An hour has passed and now they are on their way to see the doctor for a regular checkup.

Mew is playing with his finger and tapping his left leg. Gulf calmly touched him.

Mew looked at him and relaxed his body. Holding Gulf's hands and kissing them.

"Mew, calm down, it is a regular visit. I feel fine, honest." Gulf said, resting his head in Mew's heart. Gulf loves to hear Mew's heartbeat; it helps him fall asleep.

Mew inhaled, making Gulf smile as he could see Mew's chest rising.

"Okay, we need to be calm and have a positive mind," Mew said aloud, but it was mostly his own personal pep talk.

At the doctor's office, they were received with the same news. Still, Gulf will have to wait for a heart and his VAD was working perfectly.

Still, Gulf needed to take care of himself and keep eating healthy and do regular, but low impact exercises.

Outside the hospital, Mew's face was the same one as when they met seven years ago at the hospital's garden.

Gulf stood behind Mew and wrapped his hands around Mew's waist.

"Come on, you know how things work by now. It is normal I must wait like everybody else. Come, I feel like eating ice cream. I deserved to enjoy life's little pleasures."

Mew slowly turned around, and with a smirk on his face, he said. "You don't think I am enough?"

Gulf arched an eyebrow, let go of Mew's waist, and covered his mouth as if he was about to vomit. "That is so lame, please, I want real pleasure, I want ice cream."

Mew held his heart as if it were in pain.

"Ouch, that hurt! Can you be more considerate with your boyfriend?"

Gulf kept walking away, laughing.

His contagious laugh is what Mew loves the most.

They both spent the afternoon walking around the city until Gulf was feeling tired.

"I am ready to go back home. I want to rest for a while." Gulf was looking rather pale.

"Sure, let me call the driver, you need your medication?" Mew asked with a concerned tone.
