Electric Love (Denki Kaminari x Reader Oneshots)

Coffee at the Library

You didn't think it was like him to be late, especially not to one of your dates. You were really looking forward to this one, so you hoped he didn't take too long to arrive. Every time the bell on the door rings, you glance up, hoping it's him. 

Half an hour goes by, and he doesn't show. You flip through the pages of your current read. It's a romance story about a hopeless boy and a girl who helps him find his spark in life, but in the end, it turns out she was never real. It's always been your favorite, you always reread it this time of year. 

The bell jingles and the door crashes open with the wind. You look up and lock eyes with the one and only Denki Kaminari. He's carrying two coffees and he has a pastry bag in his mouth. He kicks the door shut and he stumbles over to your table. You take your coffee and snatch the bag.

"You're late. Extremely late."

He clicks his tongue.

"Traffic. The coffee shop was packed. I guess everyone wants coffee right now!" 

He flashes that goofy smile, and you can't help but give in. You reach forward and ruffle his hair.

"I want to pick out some books for you."

"Are you going to read them for me with that sexy voice of yours, Y/N?" He asks flirtatiously.

You giggle as you stuff a muffin into your mouth. He grabs a cookie and chomps through it. You keep up the simple small talk as you slowly sip your hot coffee. You ask him about work, and he talks about the crazy lady in line at the coffee shop.

"She got like sixteen coffees! She kept screaming at the workers, and while she was waiting, she kept trying to take every other order." 

You giggle, and he smiles. You gather the trash and throw it out in the nearest trashcan.

"It's time for books! Pick a genre, we'll go section by section," you say.

"Can we try fantasy? I loved those sorts of stories when I was younger."

You take his hand and drag him to the fantasy section. You were super into fantasy, so you got excited when he suggested it. You ran your fingers along the shelves of books and stopped on an oldie. 

"These ones are based on stories from Dungeons and Dragons. Do you like D&D?"

"I've never played it. You'll have to teach me about it, since you're my wonderful teacher, Miss Y/N," he says with a laugh.

You pull out the first book in the series and hand it to him.

"More fantasy, or another genre?" You ask.

He doesn't respond. He starts playing with a strand of your hair.

"Kaminari?"

He kisses your forehead.

"Yes, princess?"

"More fantasy, or another genre?" You ask again, annoyed.

"Sorry, let's do another genre. How about general fiction?"

You weren't the most educated about general fiction, but you liked realistic fic. Maybe you could get him some good ones from there. You took his hand and dragged him to the fiction section.

"So, Y/N, when did you get into reading?"

You stopped and you turned to look at him.

"My father read to me before I was even born. I've grown up ahead of my classes in the reading level, I've always loved literature."

"Poetry?" He asks.

"Poetry is... alright. I like to read it, but I'm not big on writing it. How about you, Kaminari? What made you want to come to the library and get books?"

"You, Y/N. You love to read. I want to feel that sort of love, too. I'm jealous of those fictional characters you fantasize so much."

You giggle and pull Kaminari into a hug.

"I fantasize about you way more. I miss you when you're at work. I always see you in my stories."

He strokes your hair.

"General fiction, Y/N."

You pull out of the hug and keep walking towards the fiction shelves. When you get there, you go through the same procedure. You stroke the spine of a good read you remember crying over. You don't say anything as you take it off the shelf and hand it to him.

"What's this one about?" He asks, looking at the cover.

"It tackles mental health really well. I really enjoyed it. Another section, or more fiction?"

"Can I get a romance story?" He smiles softly.

You take his hand and drag him towards the romance section. You point at the shelf.

"This one is a you thing. Pick your own, I can't give you this one."

He eyes every book on the shelf in front of him. He picks a small one with a simple cover. You remember reading it. You smile and take it from him. You flip through the pages, and a small paper falls out.

He bends down and picks it up. He unfolds it and slowly reads over it.

"Y/N, did you write this?"

He hands it to you and you look it over. Your face flushes red as you read the embarrassing poem you must have shoved in here back when you checked out this book last.

Yellow hair, bright like the sun

Being with you is always fun

I love you like boy loves girl

Electric love, don't you know you're my world?

You shove it into your pocket and sigh. 

"Yeah, I wrote that forever ago. I guess it shows that nobody has checked out this masterpiece in a while, huh?"

Kaminari chuckles and puts an arm around you. 

"Y/N, was that a poem about little ol' me?"

"Tsk."

You slip out from his grasp and start to leave the section.

"Y/N~"

You freeze at the end of the shelves.

You turn around and Kaminari is standing over you.

"Don't walk away from me, princess."

He lifts your chin and pulls you into a kiss. His lips part from yours as he whispers a poem to you. You don't really know what he's saying, but it sounds beautiful. The beautiful moment is ruined by his perverted side making him squeeze your ass. You squeak and pull away from him. You grab his wrist and start pulling him to the check out kiosk.

"Come on, we're checking out and going to your place," you say.

"Hmm? Why my place, princess?"

"The neighbors are farther away. I can get loud."

He stutters as he tries to speak, but eventually gives up and lets you drag him along.
