Stargazing

16 7 1

As I look up into the night sky
On this chilly winter night
I see the stars shining
Like little diamonds in the sky
I treasure the moments
That I get
To look up at the night sky
And see the stars shining
As if just for me
And I treasure the thought
That wherever you are
You see these stars too.
You maybe my bestfriend,
My brother,
Father
Or Mother.
Or you maybe my soulmate
One i have yet to meet
Our time together yet to uncover.
But those stars so simple and true
I know they shine for me
And for all those I love too.
So I take comfort in the fact that
Even though we may be a million miles apart
These stars connect us
No matter how far.
Stargazing is so romanticized
Something only protagonists in books do
But the act is so simple
The act so pure
Maybe we could take it up too?
Just a second in our busy lives,
To stare up into the clear night sky.
It may seem like a waste of time
But you should take comfort in the fact
That from wherever they are
The people you love
Could be looking at the same stars
And thinking of you.

Hey Guys!

Hope you enjoy this latest edition to my poetry!

I wrote this poem in November after just walking outside my house.

The sky was clear and the night was dark and the stars were shining so brightly I could see each and every one of them.

And they looked so beautiful and far away and the cool night breeze coupled with that just made me feel at peace.

Love you guys!

XoxoKatherine
