Anelia Stilinski
I collapsed as I took another shot in the shoulder. I turned around and saw only 3 guys chasing me, opposed to the 30 it was a few moments ago. I get back up and sprint harder and faster than I ever have before, the task proving difficult since my legs were still shaky from not walking for so long. I turn a couple sharp corners before another round of adrenaline pumps itself in my veins, making me stronger.
I take a step up a wooden crate and jump over a fence, before rolling a landing, and end up in a squatting position. I stand up and look around. The area I'm in is pretty bare, but there's a few houses. I quickly limp into what looks like a small town square.
A woman approaches me and I take her hand. "Get me a phone." I breath out. My mouth is extremely dry and my throat is scratchy. She nods hurriedly and leaves for a moment. I see others looking at me from afar and I try to smile, but it comes out as a grimace.
"Here." She says to me and I take it gratefully. I dial in a number I know by heart and bring it to my ear as I hear it ring.
"Hello." The gruff voice of General Wilson meets my ears, and I smile.
"General Wilson." I cough and I hear him stop movements.
"Who is this?" He questions me harshly and I smile.
"It's me sir. Anelia, General Stilinski. Come on old man, I haven't been gone that long." I say and laugh at my own joke.
"Anelia?" He sounds choked up.
"Yes sir, and I must say, as much as I'm loving this little chat, I am heavily wounded and am feeling particularly dizzy at the moment, so if you could trace this call and have some people, preferably a medical team, pick me up, that'd be lovely." I say and hear him let out a half chuckle, half sob.
"Of course, we'll be there in 2 minutes." He assures me.
"Fantastic." I say.
"And Anelia," He starts.
"Hmm." I respond.
"I really missed you, we all did. You don't know how many people are jumping for joy right now." He says and I smile, sitting down on the ground and laying back, looking up at the sky.
"Of course you all did, I am very popular." I say and he chuckles. "Hunter, I'm really tired. I want to go to sleep. And I also want a large vacation after this." I tell him and I hear him stall his movements again.
"Anelia, you listen to me right now. Under no circumstances, are you to close your eyes. Do you hear me? That's an order." He tells me but it sounds rushed, and fuzzy. I have a ghost of a smile on my face.
"Sir, I think this is the one order where I might actually listen to you." I chuckle, then groan as pain shoots through me. "On second though, disregard that last statement. I'll never listen to you." I say, and actually close my eyes.
"Anelia, the chopper is landing. Your team and a medical team is on their way to tend to your wounds until you return to base. Can you see them? Or hear them?" He questions.
"No sir, I can't see them, their kicking up sand and it's getting in my closed eyes." I tell him and hear footsteps approaching me. About 50 meters out and fast approaching. I groan and try to lean into the ground more as another inferno wave of pain washed over me. It proves unsuccessful, as all I get is itchy sand trying to seep its way into my shirt so I quickly stop.
I can see shadows above me behind my closed eyelids and I groan.
"Santiago if you're just standing there, please feel free to join me on the ground. It's quite comfortable. Wouldn't want you to get tired just standing there, staring at me or anything." I say sarcastically and I hear his distinct chuckle.
"Oh yeah, that's definitely her." I hear him chuckle and a pair of arms wrap themselves around me and pick me up before starting to run, making me bounce.
"Did you have doubts? Was there another bleeding out, severely injured soldier out here? If so, please tend to them first, they seemed to be a little quiet." I mutter out and I feel the chest I was pressed up against rumble with a chuckle, still running.
"Yeah, almost dying does nothing to slow down your sarcasm does it, Lia?" I hear the voice ask and I recognize it as Tristan Rodriguez.
"Tristan! Hey! When did you decide to talk? And did you think it would?" I ask him and he chuckles again.
"I'm never quiet. And only a little." He states.
"Well you are now, but why? Usually I would think this is a blessing but now it's unnerving." I say and he laughs, though it sounds forced.
"I'm just glad you're okay." He says sounding choked up and I groan and punch him with as much force as I could muster, which wasn't a lot.
"What was that for?" He asks as I get set down on a semi-soft surface, which I recognize as a stretcher. I open my eyes and look at all the men surrounding me.
"You were being soft, dude." I say as a oxygen mask is placed on me, and I succumb to darkness.

I wake up and wince at a bright light.
"What did I tell you guys about putting bright lights in hospital rooms?" I ask, and the light dims. "Thank you."
I open my eyes to see Hunter, Christian, Chase and my unit there, along with a doctor.
"What. No laughs?" I ask and they all smile. Hunter comes and hugs me first, nearly squeezing the life out of me. "Hunter, if they didn't kill me, you might." I chuckle and he lets go. Everyone takes a turn giving me a hug and saying how happy they are that I'm back.
"Well, Anelia, do you want the bad news, of the good news?" The doctor asks me and I respond.
"Bad first, to get it out of the way."
"Okay, well first, you had an unknown amount of bullet wounds. A select amount went through and through, a clean shot, and those that weren't, we were able to extract. We lost count of how many we pulled out after 7." I stopped him, laughing, then groaning in pain.
"I was going to make a joke about how many doctors it takes to count to ten, but I don't think it's the right time." I say.
He shakes his head, but does have a small smile. "It's not, but I'll let it pass. Anyways, you had electroshock and electric marks, that will go away. Bruises that will go away with time, no broken bones, surprisingly, and stab marks. Still with the bad news, a few open wounds from the bullets and stabs will heal, but the likeliness that you will still have scarring is absolute. No bad internal damage, a little internal bleeding, nothing major, and everything else seems to be okay. Good news, you'll live." He said and I took a deep breath.
"Well damn. At least there's good news!" I say enthusiastically and they all let out a sigh of relief. "What?" I ask.
"We thought you would cry or something." Levi says and I scoff.
"When do I cry? I never cry, you know that." I chaste and they laugh.
"Anelia, I'm sorry to tell you this, but we feel that this accident, was taken too far." Chase says and I look at him curiously.
"What do you mean, Chase? Please don't tell me what I think it is." I ask, and Christian sighs.
"Lia, when you return back to the states, the President has requested to give you a purple heart, a medal of honor, USA loyalty medal, and a personal discharge. It happens in 3 weeks. You will still do General work, we'll call you in when training is needed, and you will always be our right hand man." He says and I nod.
"Yes sir." I say.
I turn and face my friends.
"Well guys, you're gonna come meet my family." I say with a smile.

FINALLY A HAPPY MOMENT
I know I was the one to write this, and I remember why, but I can't bring myself to change it, not when it ties in with a lot of what the future of the story goes to.
Ti amo il mio piccolo eroe!
