Rex POV

Were finally going, I cant believe I convinced them.

We have been going on a few missions with "The Bad Batch." While we were infiltratiing   separatist data, we found something, I didn't understand it at first but after a few seconds I got it.

" CT-1409.....CT-1409"

"I...don't believe it" 

Its Echo, I might finally get my vod back, we have been on Skako Minor for a few minutes or so now, they don't believe me, but I know echo is here, i can feel it. The General has been encouraging me the whole mission, he really is the best friend you could ask for.

Just then, Anakin yelled,

"WATCH OUT REX" and pushed  me out of the way, 

I look over and see that the generals been picked up by some flying lizard thing, the only thing going through my head was, GET.HIM.BACK.

As I'm standing up, he drops his lightsaber. Well, so much for him pledging to never lose it again.

I start shooting at it, but it's no use. Tech blurts out some shit i dont undertsand, nor do i care right now, my best friend just got taken.

"I've got a thermal reading, point 25 east, elevation 175."

Crosshair, being the cocky bastard that he is, said 

"Relax, ill handle this."

He looked like he was shooting some sort of grappler,

"what are you doing?" i asked, them and their crazy plans.

"Going for a ride," Hunter said, hes also WAYYYY to calm, before getting whisked away.

We sit for a few minutes, before tech gets a transmission.

"Tech, I'm with the general, hone in on my position."

THANK.FORCE. i thought he was dead.

we make it to their position, and run down the stairs, i groan thinking 'its another one of those planets..'

we all crouch behind a rock

"remember what the general said, no casualties, DISARM only." i say, trying to hide the fear in my voice. 

" Were on it captain, Wrecker, Crosshair, Rock slide."

Just then, Wrecker starts pushing the rock we were just crouched behind.

(Time skip cause i dont feel well lmaooo)

Once we make it inside, i start looking around, their are tanks everywhere.

" I dont like the look of this..." Tech says, he's nervous too, good, join the club.

Tech starts clicking buttons, no wonder his name is tech. "I'm definitely picking up a life form in there, it seems to be a stasis chamber."

The chamber opens, and echo falls out, he doesn't even look like himself but i can tell its my vod. I fell tears pricking at my eyes, oh god, what did they do to him?

 I take of my helmet and just look at him, oh no.

" R-Rex? Where am I?"

" Its ok Echo, you're safe now, just sit tight trooper."

He looks at me, that look, its the same look that fives gave me when- NO! No. that's not happening, he's just in shock. Right?

" Rex, I feel it."

Just then Anakin bursts in with everyone else.

"Rex, how are you holding up in here"

I don't say anything, I just keep looking at Echo. No, please no, don't let this be happening.

"Rex, i know its coming, just stay here. please? i dont want to die alone."

Now i don't even try to hold back, I let the tears roll down my cheeks and choke back a sob, 

"No, Vod, stay with me, ple- please Echo," I'm choking on my words now, great. I can see everyone else start to tear up, even the bad batch, who never even knew echo, were all brothers. Anakin walks over and sits down with me and starts singing to Echo, a song that every clone knows, exept for echo, we learned it about 3 months after the citatel.

Deep in the meadow, under the willow.
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow.
Lay down your head, and close your eyes.
And when they open, the sun will rise.Here it's safe, and here it's warm.

The bat batch began to sing with him, even crosshair, who barely talks.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away.
A cloak of green, a moon beam ray.
Forget your woes, and let your troubles lay.
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away.

I start singing, I can barely do it without choking on a sob, but I have to, for echo, the last thing i want is for him to be scared when he dies.

Here it's safe, and here it's warm.

Just after we were done, Echo fell limp, Anakin looked at me, he had tears streaming down his cheeks.

"I'm so sorry, echo" he says.

All i can say, is "NO! no, please... echo."
