Chapter 8. Treasure Search Arc Part IV.

-Konoha Floating Island, DxD Universe-

A room with a slightly tense atmosphere, not because of a fight or anything. But because of Kakashi, the Rokudaime Hokage who was sitting in his oversized chair received a report that made his emotions rise. There were four other people besides Kakashi in the room, namely two black haired youths, one red-haired youth without eyebrows and another girl with pink mane.

"What does this mean?" asked Kakashi who was still surprised by the report he had just received.

"As you can see in that report, Hokage-sama. Our 12 ANBU who are guarding the logistical supplies for Konoha's needs are attacked by a group of supernatural beings in Kuoh City," said Sai, the young man who was always smiling, not knowing the place and the atmosphere.

Sai is now the main commander of the ANBU Unit. Even though he is still young, his dedication to Konoha and the achievements he has achieved so far prove that he deserves that position.

Sai made a written report that his subordinate ANBU, which was assigned to escort several workers in charge of distributing food and other logistics to Konoha Village, had been attacked by a group of winged creatures like bats. Sasuke informs that they are a demon race. Luckily Sasuke came quickly to save them, and brought them back to Konoha through his dimensional portal even though the ANBU were already injured.

To meet Konoha's food and logistical needs, Kakashi as Hokage ordered a number of workers escorted by the ANBU to leave Konoha and transact in Kuoh. Indeed, transactions cannot be carried out easily because of currency differences. But with precious precious metals that apply everywhere, namely gold, such a thing is not a problem. Konoha has enough gold reserves to meet the needs of all its citizens for the next 2 years. As for the long-term plan, Kakashi suggested that there should be a gradual movement of residents from the floating island of Konoha to Kuoh city and other cities around it. Become residents of that city and mingle there, because Konoha civilians are no different from humans in that city.

"Sakura, how are they doing now?" Kakashi asked Sakura who was responsible for dealing with the injured ANBU.

"Everyone is safe, their health has improved" Sakura replied.

"Haaaah" sighed heavily, "I didn't expect something like this to happen"

"Should we wait for Naruto to come home first, so he can take care of this problem" suggested Sakura.

"This has nothing to do with Naruto at all, we have to solve this problem without him. He's already done a lot for us, so we shouldn't keep depending on him" said Kakashi clearly.

"Then what do we do now, sensei?" asked Sakura.

"We can't just sit there. Sasuke, how did your mission gather information?" asked Kakashi staring at Sasuke who was not far ahead of him.

Besides serving as a guardian of Konoha's exit and exit portals, Sasuke also has a mission to gather information about how their new world system works. When it comes to gathering dangerous information like this, Sasuke alone is capable of such a tough mission.

"I already know who the leader of each faction is, their data and a little information about their fighting abilities. They also live in a place that might be said to be a different dimension from where humans live. They call it underworld and heaven. There, I found a giant red dragon sleeping. I estimate the dragon's strength is stronger than the Juubi we fought during the war the other day, "Sasuke said, giving the information he had just gathered for the past two weeks.
