"You know Eli, I never liked you before like I hated disliked you." A drunken Hannah began confessing whatever she had bottled up against me that night, as we sat on the dock.

Candingo City's dock on the night of her After party where she practically invited the entire school.

Her wearing this hot yet simple princess dress with a black and white pair of Air Jordans, gulping the Scotch she held nearby.

For some reason, Hannah was avoiding me and whenever I attempted conversing with her, someone would purposely entwine.

Still having the audacity to ask 'Oh, am I disturbing you but I need her?'.

Realising I was destroying her birthday fun, I left her to party with Nel and her other friends as I did with a variety of mine as well.

"Hey dude!" Brett, my best bro yelled across the loud music as I distanced myself from him, "Where you goin?!"

'Washroom.' I mouthed.

A nod from him signaled me to continue.

After I had my business finished, I was about to head out when the back of Hannah immediately caught me. It seemed as though she was staring at the lake.

"Dude, what bathroom business took you that long?" Brett's loud enough voice echoed through the less noisy hallway.

It took some time for me to adjust to what he had said since I was a bit drunk too.

"Huh?" I connected eyes with him, after the hard punch I got.

"Woah dude?" Brett chuckled, swaying his silky, wavered black hair. He legit laughs at and for anything when he's drunk. Damn, this guy.

"Hey, isn't that your girl?"

Quickly, I turned to see he was referring Hannah, punching him in the gut.

"You know that's Noah's chick bro. What kind of dude would I be to steal another man's girl?"

Again, he laughed like what I said was 'funny'. "I'm just saying. They've been together for what, a year now and since then, he has always missed her important events. Today for example; her birthday. Yeah I grand the dude and all but you don't do that to your girl man." Brett actually made a point, clasping onto both my arms. "Now, you can either be a dumb ass kid and ignore her or a real friend, a man for that matter and actually walk up to her, allow her to vent all her anger out, even if it's onto you, then when she's done, say something cheesy. Hannah always laughs at cheesy shit, so you choose man."

Those last words would have made me burst into laughter just because it was coming from Brett. The guy who literally invented the word 'stupid'.

But because of the seriousness in his tone, I couldn't help but agree. After all, he is Hannah's best friend. He should know.

"I guess you're right man." Unknowingly, I revealed a smile as I stared through the window.
