Slowly Lexi marched back to the dormitory. Knowing that soon someone would inquire about her presence in the school. Why she was sent here, to this special school, instead of the millions of other schools in the country. Lexi kept her head down, as she entered the room. Not allowing her eyes to examine the faces of anyone else in the room. "Hey girl. Can't you read? Why did you climb the Twelfth graders' wall? Didn't you pay attention when anyone else was climbing? I'm sure you didn't. If you did, you wouldn't have climbed the wrong wall. Unless you were trying to show off. Well you didn't succeed in climbing the wall. You didn't ring the bell, so I don't know how in the world you could have passed that test. In my opinion, Miss Frith was just feeling sorry for you." Lexi heard footsteps behind her. She mentally braced herself for the further criticism. She heard a kinder voice. " Elizabeth is just jealous. She takes pride in being the best rock climber in this school. She thinks she is the most athletic. Probably mad the you climbed higher than her." "Thanks" grumbled Lexi. "I'm serious you know." Now Lexi looked up. To see who in he world would care about anyone's emotions, let alone her emotions.

It was Mia. Mia Neilson. But it couldn't be Mia. Mia never spoke. Not ever. But there she was now, talking to Lexi. Lexi the nobody, the nothing. That shocked Lexi. In a world, where everything is ruined. Where everyone is sad, and selfish. "I can walk with you to maths, if you like." Now Mia was speaking very shyly. "Yes, I would like that very much." Answered Lexi. As Lexi left the room, she felt a small pang of hope. Yes she had made an enemy, but, she might have just made a friend.
