I'm My Only Friend.

Loneliness, that's my friend.

"You don't hate being alone, you hate feeling alone."

You might've heard that a lot. Is it really true? When you have friends, that you'd want to spend an entire lifetime with, then it is relatable. But what if it isn't like that?

See, you have friends, but you ignore their calls. You have friends, but you always leave them on read, or don't reply at all to their messages. You always turn down their invitations, when they ask you to hangout.

You've chosen to be alone, so do you really hate to feel alone?

But are you really "alone?" Aren't you a person?

Being alone isn't bad, no, not at all. Let your mind rest. Let it recharge, from always having to pretend that you're happy, when you're around those whom you don't consider "friends." It's fine to consider yourself your only friend.

Afterall, you will be the only friend who stays from dusk to dawn, and from birth to death.

The sun rises in the morning, and as you check phone, you sigh. "Friends" texting you, and sending you pictures, streaks, videos. One saying Good morning, and one asking to hangout.

You delete all the notifications off your phone. You don't want to see them at all. In fact, you just wish your phone to not get any notifications at all, at any time. You sometimes wonder how'd you end up even having friends, when you don't even want them. History, that is.

They've started to catch on. They notice you're ignoring them. They're either getting suspicious or confused. Worried even, but you keep pretending.

"Fake it, till you make it." That's exactly what's going on. You lie, till it's feels true. So true, you even start to believe it yourself.

No, I'm not going to admit I'm ignoring you. No, I'm not going to admit, that I just want to cut contact.

Afterall, you've made me like my own company more, than yours..
