Tsukishima pov~

I arrive at Y/N's home and open the door. *Weird its unlocked* I noticed that its dark and empty. the halls felt...lonely. "hello! y/n!"

No response.

I mean its not like I expected one from them either.

After all, who would like to welcome their crush home after they mortified them? But something felt off. I turn on the lights as the first thing that stuck out to me were two pieces of notebook paper on a table. I walk over to it and began reading it, only for my heart to drop:

Dear Amy,

Thank you for being my best friend. You were like a sister to me. You've been there for me through middle school ever since my whole family passed away. And I'm eternally grateful for that. Although I've been pushing you away for the past couple of days, just know that I still care about you. Forgive me for what I did. And please, don't blame yourself either. Goodbye Amy, I'll always love you.

-Y/N

My hands shake as I move on to the second sheet of notebook paper, only to find my name plastered on it.

Dear Tsukishima,

Although you might not care that I'm gone, just know that I'll always love you. I know you don't feel the same way, but no matter how hard I tried, my feelings for you won't go away. Forgive me for what I did and don't blame yourself. Remember when we met on that building? You probably don't know what I'm talking about. But I lied. I actually was planning on taking my life right then and there. But you came along and saved me. When we were telling each other about our problems, I fell in love. But now that I know the true concept behind rejection, humiliation, and heartbreak, what is there more to lose? Farewell, Tsukishima Kei.

-Y/N

I immediately drop the note. Tears threatening to fall out as my heart aches harder. no, no, no, this cant be happening.

Running around the house, entering each door, I hoped the notes that used to lie on the table were just full of lies. After finding every room empty I freak out once more. "DAMMIT!" I yell grabbing my hair as I've come to the conclusion that Y/N isn't home. suddenly i remember the note. Y/N must be on the same building where i saved their life. with weak legs, I manage to sprint out the door.

*How could i feel so clueless about my feelings towards Y/N. I'm an idiot for pushing them away* i think as my breath becomes heavy. The sound of my shoes hitting the concrete filling my surroundings. Although I receive weird glances from strangers who happen to pass by, I ignore them. My only focus is saving y/n.

Because it's my fault.

Panting, I arrive at the abandoned building and run up the stairs. every now and then, i trip by how fast I'm going. my heart rate beating faster with each step. The image of y/n smiling as tears stream down their face from that day fills my mind. It haunts me.

For what felt like an eternity, I finally reach the rooftop door, quickly opening it.

Y/N POV~

You didn't know how.

But your legs moved on its own as you find yourself on top of the building you met Tsuki.

Watching the pink and orange mixture planted in the sky, the birds flying together, just like the day he saved you. The wind caressing your hair which calmed you. Even almost made you turn back and walk home. However you have flashbacks of the day your parents passed away, how lonely you were until a hand extended towards you being your grandma, only for her to pass away too. the grief you held for years, Amy comforting you throughout middle school, seeing light for the first time when meeting Tsukishima, and finally being pushed away by him.

You gently smile at the last thought.

But why?

Was it because you realized how clueless and vulnerable you were? Or were you proud of the way you were able to express your feelings towards Tsukishima even if it wasn't your way? who knows. Looking up at the sky you whisper. "I'll be there soon grandma, mom, and dad." And with that you close your eyes, stretch out your arms as though you were flying, turn around, and begin to fall back. ahh how you waited for this day to finally come. the day your problems washes away as you could escape this living hell.

But before your body could fully separate itself from the roof of the building, you felt firm sweaty hands wrapped around your wrist. With that sudden touch, you instinctively open your eyes to find someone you'd never expect.

No it wasn't a nearby stranger who happened to witness you on top of the building.

No it was not Amy.

In fact, it was a panting Tsukishima Kei.
