Chapter 2

Ratchet looked at the bathroom in awe. He loved the colors and the way it was decorated. His ears and tail perked upwards. He fell in love with the decorations and colors. "How beautiful." He said. He used the bathroom and then left after washing his hands. He didn't like the water, but he heard to always wash your hands before you leave the bathroom.

Ratchet came out to see Optimus pacing around the room. Ratchet was confused. "Master, why are you pacing around?" He asked. Optimus looked up. "Well, I'm just wondering what I'm going to do with you...." he said.

Ratchet softened his gaze. "Well, you can introduce me to everyone. I'll be in cat form, and when the time is right, I'll show them this form." He said smiling. Optimus nodded. "Yeah, that's a good idea." He said.

Optimus hugged Ratchet. "Soft." He thought. He felt Ratchet's hair. Ratchet blushed. "M-master? What are you doing?" He asked. Optimus froze, he let Ratchet go. "S-sorry, I was just hugging you. I also couldn't help myself, your hair was so soft." He said smiling.

Ratchet smiled. "I take that as a compliment." He said. Optimus smiled. "By the way, how do you know how to speak fluently in English?" He asked. Ratchet's ears perked up to that question. "Well, my past masters taught me. They believed that if I was able to speak fluent in their language, we won't have problems with communication." He said.

Optimus nodded. "What happened to your past owners?" He asked. Ratchet looked at him sadly. "They abandoned me..." he said looking away. Optimus was shocked. How could they abandon a poor defensless animal like that? "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." He said looking down.

Ratchet looked at him with a small smile. "Don't be. You were only curious. I won't blame you." He said. Optimus softened his eyes. "Ah, I see." He said. Ratchet smiled. He turned back into a cat and scratched the door. Optimus opened the door. "There you go bud." He said. Ratchet then left running. But he started walking because of how painful his wounds are.

Optimus followed him smiling. Ironhide was greeted by a little cat jumping on him. In shick he fell forward. "Ah!" He said. Optimus came running in "ah! Sorry Ironhide. Ratchet, don't do that. He could have been badly injured!" He said to the cat.

Ironhide laughed. "It's fine Prime. He just surprised me." He said. He picked up Ratchet and then hugged him. "The cat is so cute! And he's very fluffy!" He said.

Optimus giggled. "He really is huh?" He asked. Ratchet smiled internally. Ratchet really wanted to change form and hug back. Ratchet nuzzled Ironhide to show his affection. Ironhide smiled. Optimus smiled. "He seems to like you." He said.

The twins walked in. "Morning everyone!" They said. Optimus looked up. "Morning, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe." He said. Sideswipe looked at Ratchet. "What a cutie." He said. Sustreaker nodded. Optimus smiled. "Thanks." He looked at Ratchet, who was looking at him, happy that they said that. "He takes it as a compliment." He said.

The twins looked at him weirdly. "How do you know that boss?" They asked. Optimus smiled. "I just know." He said looking at the cat in Ironhide's hands.

Optimus took Ratchet into his arms. "We should get breakfast on the table. Ironhide, would you like to help me?" He asked. Ironhide's eyes were lightened up slightly. "S-sure, but I'm not that great with the stove." He said. Optimus smiled. "It's fine, I'll help you." He said.

Ratchet looked up at Optimus. He nuzzled Optimus' arm. 'My master is so kind. He's a great leader, I can tell.' Ratchet thought. 'People look up to him. Without their leader, they'd be lost..' he thought. "I need to protect him, with all I have. Even if it costs me my life.' He thought, he needed to repay the man who saved him, even the whole team.
